  1. "It is unfortunate that today's educators place so much emphasis on finding out what students want to include in the curriculum and then giving it to them. It is the educators' duty to determine the curriculum and the students' duty to study what is presented to them." I am not totally in agreement with the issue, the author is frowning over an issue which totally unecessary and doesnt find any resonance in todays times. Students of this generation right after their 10th or 12th grade decide what they want to do ahead in their career. Accordingly they want to pick and choose the courses. At the end of the day its the students who are ones who have to read the curriculum and make their career out of it. It should all depends on their interests and aspirations. Till recently we have been learning in a traditional way, the curicullams used to change very rarely, and the students are burdened with the courses which he was not at all interested. As the famous saying goes "You can take a camel to the pond but you cannot make it drink". Because having a tougher curicullam we are implicitly evicting the students who have lesser aptitude when compared to their contemporaries. However the choice of the curicullam is not right from the 1st grade, it generally starts from the under graduate level. Where learning every thing will take the student no where. But there are scenerios where its best if the educators prepare the curicullam. It applies to schools which have great professors who know best what are the latest advancement in a particular science. The schools and the professors who have a high standards, which are in sync with the research and development in that area and what are the latest trends of that particular industry. Hence the educators can definetly suggest and guide the students, But the students are the ones who have to take a call on what they want to read that best suits their aptitude. ------------------- Experts Please comment on my Issue, I will surely respond to yours if any.
