  1. Hello, I am a foreign pharmacy graduate tutoring for NAPLEX from 2016. Doing one on one tutoring online and in person. Will be helping for FPGEE with 5$/hr one on one classes.
  2. Normally I would say that asking in person is the right way to go about it but now that I can't actually meet my professor in person, should I ask him by email for a recommendation letter? Or should I ask him to meet on zoom or something, I am hesitant to do this because it just seems like it would inconvenience him
  3. Company management should conduct routine monitoring of all employee e-mail correspondence. Such monitoring will reduce the waste of resources such as time and system capacity, as well as protect the company from lawsuits. Write a response in which you discuss your views on the policy and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider the possible consequences of implementing the policy and explain how these consequences shape your position. =============================== My essay: The world is moving towards digitization and AI. Petabytes of data is getting generated on a daily basis which gives and insight into the people's and a nation's life in general. With the growing data in the world it becomes all the more necessary for every company to keep a health check on its data in all form. Hence I support the argument that company management should conduct routine monitoring of all employee email correspondence. As per the guidelines created for all public companies listed on share market are required to keep data privacy. Failure to adhere to these directly results in cancellation of trade license and a irrevocable damage to a company's reputation. A policy of regular audit if being implemented will help a company assess that any insider trading information is being disclosed and assess whether the employees are adhering to non-disclosure policy or not. There have been incidences in past when insider information has been circulated in market and big companies have faced massive losses due to such malpractice. A regular audit of the emails correspondence of email will help company gauge their compliance. Another aspect related to such monitoring is related to how well a a company is doing post sales during warranty period. Usually every company has a helpline email but people often complain that once they purchase something or place an order there is no forum for them which actively addresses their grievances . This situation is applicable right from online apps catering to every facet of a routine life. For example we order food on an app and we are not satisfied with the quality of food delivered then we use customer helpline number or customer care email address to show our grievances. A regular audit of emails can help a company understand if such grievances are being addressed rightly and whether the employees need more training to address any customer's grievances properly. Another aspect of implementation of this policy is it will help create any company create employee productivity index.Such audits are necessary to understand where the employees are spending the time allocated to them in the office hours. Any employee engaging in using company email address for personal communication can be penalized and someone who is using the office emails diligently and keeping customer satisfaction on highest priority can be rewarded accordingly. These kind of audits will also help a company ensure that employees are not engaging in any malpractice related to IP theft. For any company it is absolutely necessary that its intellectual property is protected. These timely audits will help a company keep a check on this. While it is necessary that such audits should be implemented but it is also important that employees should feel that they are being trusted in what they are doing. These audits are important from the point of view of greater good of keeping a company's health in check. I would like to conclude that company management should conduct routine monitoring of all employee email correspondence.
  4. Hi all, I have been asked for a Skype call with a professor from a university where I applied to for an Ag/Applied Econ Ph.D. I have not yet received any offer letter from the program. This email came on February 28, which I think is a little later than when a lot of programs send offer letters. The meeting is NOT with the graduate coordinator but a professor whose research, they thought, I would be interested in. The email also highlights that I can ask any questions about the program. I am confused what this means. Does it mean the program generally does this to all the selected applicants to review if their interests and the research project match with each other? Does it mean the first round of offers were sent to the best candidates with a flexibility to choose any project and advisor they like after the program starts, and other remaining applicants are tried to be matched with other existing projects? Is this practice common? Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks, Ssh
  5. I have not heard back from some phd programs that had a January 15th deadline. If I see on sites such as Grad Cafe about applicants receiving interview invites, can I email the program the status of my application?

  7. Hello all, I applied to USC and have received an email from them requesting my 2018 Fall grades. And in the email they said "identified you as a promising applicant" but more information is needed before a decision could be made. I was really excited to see this as USC is one of my top choices but was wondering how many people who applied to USC got this email. Does "promising" really mean something here? It would be really great if anyone who had applied to USC before or anyone who is familiar with the admissions process at USC could help out! Thank you guys.
  8. Hi all, I got an interview request from a top b-school (top 5 ish) asking me to interview on Jan 29th. It is one of my top choices. I emailed the professor immediately but since then, have not heard a reply. The professor told me that he was traveling for a conference and would be busy last week but asked me to set up a few dates to interview. I sent a follow-up email on the 1st but I still have not received a reply. I do not want to bother him and I respect his schedule, but I am wondering when it would be appropriate to email him again (or if there is something else I can do). I do not want to miss out on this school. Thanks!
  9. Did anybody get an email from Harvard Business School after taking the GRE?
  10. I have a magoosh account unused because the grad school I got accetped to didn't need the GRE and I only found this out after paying. I never even touched the account . I am giving up my account for 45-50 dollars which I think is a great steal when I played over 100 for 6 months for this and still 4 months left. You can change the password and change email to yours so account is totally yours email me at malujj23@yahoo.com if interested. I accept payment in bitcoin, bitcoin cash , litecoin, or ethereum This is not a joke or scam I have uploaded the screenshots thru image bb https://ibb.co/chNTeK https://ibb.co/h8reKK https://ibb.co/deKYeK https://ibb.co/cVDqte Once payment received you get the password and can change to your email and change password
  11. Hello all, I received an email from the program that I really want to attend. Sadly, they said I'm currently on waitlist.. It seems all I can do now is to send an email. Is it okay if I send an email to the program director and the coordinator to appeal and show my interest to the program? If so, to what extent do I have to write? Just say "thank you and look forward to good news", or briefly describe my research interests and how much I fit to the program? Your advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi urch,:dejected: I am going to get a reference letter from my thesis adviser, who is currently unemployed and probably will not be employed until next year. Is it ok to get a reference letter from him. As far as i understand i need to identify where he works and provide his email, which in general has to be an email from his institution (.edu or something). So is it ok to choose him if he is unemployed right now? Thank you in advance!
  13. After meeting with eight professors and a dozen PhD students at a campus visit, is one expected to send 20 unique thank you emails? My emerging practice is to send an email to the adcom director and any other individual with whom I made a notable connection. Thoughts?
