  1. Hi tehere, i am preparing for TOEFL but i can not find a reference book. Help me please..
  2. Hi all, Does anyone know how good is a RA at IMF for those interested in getting into top PhD programs? (I know that being an RA at a top10 univ is a better option but it's not available for me at this time). I looked for the PhD placement of former IMF RAs but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi everyone. I created a service that helps you to check your essay and it can improve your writing skills. It is called CheckEssay. This is how I recommend to use the service: Step 1: Register with the service and check your first essay. Find your weak points. It's free (for now). Step 2: Find your problem areas, identify your exact mistakes. Once you have clearly defined them, practice every day until you correct the mistakes. Everyone has different mistakes. Step 3: Create a curriculum for the next month. Commit to at least 30 minutes a day, but the more you practice, the better you get. Step 4: Learn Strategies! (There are many, and they are all very important.) Find the best essays and learn from them. By analyzing good essays, you increase your chances of getting good results. So, let me know if you have any question or suggestions. Thanks!
  4. As we're starting to compare programs and will soon need to make decisions, it seems like not many departments post detailed information on graduation and placements. Is there a way to find out how many entering PhD students (1) drop out, (2) graduate and get academic jobs, (3) graduate and get non-academic jobs?
  5. guy you can find all the naplex material on this site NAPLEX, MPJE & CPJE exam thank you...

  11. Topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: "Comprehending the past is crucial to tackling present and future obstacles." My essay There are some people who think that as we are living in rapidly changing society understanding the past is no longer that important as it was in the past. However I personally think that trying to harness what our past can teach us is still important because many events that are happening today have similar counterparts in the past, and there are many instances where we find clues to problems that seem to be very new and unfamiliar to us. To begin with, if we have some knowledge in human history, we can find some events that occurred in different countries and different era, but have a lot of similarities with one another. There can be many explanations for it, but I think the reason is, although we are all different people and have different lifestyles, we are all basically the same in that we are all humans, which means that people who lived in different times with us can sometimes have very similar experiences with us and can face similar circumstances that we do now. Thus, it may be safe to say that the lessons they have learned and solutions they have found can still prove to be valid today in solving today’s problems. But of course, there are also many problems that seem to be quite new to us, leading us to think that the ways of the past are not useful to solve them. It may be true, but if we scrutinize those seemingly new problems carefully, sometimes we will find that we can find some clues to solve them from the old solutions. There are many examples in some fields of science, such as organic chemistry, where we sometimes find that a previously unheard-of finding is obtained through combining already well-known processes in a new way, or some breakthrough is obtained by just reorganizing previously known knowledges in a more efficient way. These examples are numerous, which suggests that useful insights can be gained through deep understanding of previous knowledges, and it may possibly lead to solving current or future problems. To sum up, as we may face similar problems that existed in the past we may rely on previous knowledge to solve those problems, and although in some case the problem can seem to lack previous examples, we still can obtain important clues to tackle them by thoroughly examining the past. In this regard, I must say that I think, the importance of comprehending the past cannot be overstated. Any form of feedback is welcome :)

  13. Hello all, I've been wondering where all of these RA jobs can be found? I checked NBER earlier today and only found 3 faculty looking for RAs posted... the odds seem very slim for someone looking to definitely find an RA job... are there other places to look? I imagine the Fed branches all take RAs, but do they have an official process to find and apply for RA jobs? Also, what are some of the think tanks, other than RAND and Brookings that actively recruit RAs? Thank you all...
  14. Assuming I am Australian Chinese...attend City Uni HK PhD Marketing...can I find an academic job easily later on...say in the USA or Europe?
  15. Hi guys! I've been trying to find a university in about top40 - top80 as my sort of insurance choice, however, I haven't managed to find any place that would offer stipend but without teaching assistant responsibilities. Are you aware of existance of any places that are a bit lower in the ranking, but which offer funding without any responsibilities in the first year? Preferably, I'm looking for something good in macro and game theory. Thank you for any suggestions!
  16. When i started finding professor it was really a toilsome work . Now me with one of my friend made a video out of all our ways those we found easy . Now i am sharing it with u guys purely on academic purpose . :)
