  1. Hello everyone: I'm a TOEFL teacher and I thought this would be a good time to offer free online TOEFL lessons to anyone who's interested. We've been meeting on Mondays and Thursdays at 1800 GMT on YouTube Live. Our first few lessons have been on TOEFL Reading, and the next one will be this Monday 30 March. If you're interested in joining, feel free to DM me or simply search for our company, OneProfessor, on YouTube. Thanks, and happy studying! Best, John OneProfessor TOEFL
  2. Hi everyone! My name's John, I'm a TOEFL expert who does online English tutoring for students and professionals. I want to reach as many students as possible, so I'm doing a totally free live Q&A on YouTube this Friday. It's totally free, just a chance for you to ask questions about English grammar, about the new TOEFL, etc. Here's the details: Live Q&A for TOEFL students Location: YouTube, YouTube Time: Friday, August 23 at 1300 GMT If you have questions you'd like to answer, just comment here and I'll try to answer them in the live Q&A. Thanks & good luck on your studies! :) -- John Versa English
  3. Hi all, I took the GRE in June, and selected 4 schools after the exam as my free score recipients (obviously, this was before the applications for this cycle opened). If I'm beginning to submit my applications to schools now, will I need to request to send the scores again, or will the scores sent in the summer be OK? Best, pulsars
  4. Hello everyone! :) I'm so thankful I found this forum. I'm currently studying for the GRE and planning to to Marketing Ph.D programs in the fall. I'm really excited to learn more about everything through this forum because I'm pretty new to the process of preparing for Ph.D programs! Please feel free to reach out if you are in the same place as me or if you are willing to help a new person out ^^ Sue
  5. Should it be important at all? I assume that I won't spend much time outdoors since I will barely have any free time.
  6. Check out this website I created that uses an EViews-like interface and syntax to do OLS regression! Free Linear Regression I couldn't find any other decent websites that do multiple linear regression and I wanted something for myself that can test hypotheses, and be able to display multiple figures beside each other for comparison - all without having to buy or download a pirated stat package. I built it for people like me who don't want to have to walk all the way to the school library in the snow just to use STATA. Let me know what you think!
  7. Hey all, my old employer asked me to post here. They are testing a new online teaching system and offering their TOEFL classes for free. It is not a scam. They will only ask for your email so they can send you the class information and such. No credit card, no money to pay, nothing, I promise. They need test students to test out the online system, not the class content (they're program is GOOD). Anyway, check it out if you want. The classes are live online webinars with their teachers. The classes are at 6PM Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is California time, so adjust accordingly. Here is the link to their webpage where you can sign up. If you have any problem or issue you can post here and I will address it! But you wont have any problems! Online FREE! - iTestSuccess
  8. Hi We'd like to introduce a new IELTS site with free study tips and pdf worksheets (with answer keys) for students, together with free, fully-integrated lesson plans for teachers. More material will be added to the website shortly: beaconenglish.org We are also offering regular study tips for students on Facebook. Please search for the group: Beacon English IELTS Study Tips We hope to see you soon! Rick & Simon Beacon English PS Your feedback is appreciated.
  9. I've been seeing A LOT of request for speaking partners. But this worries me a bit. One thing is that just speaking with another TOEFL candidate, while possibly somewhat helpful, is not really going to advance you that much. In fact, I can see that it might even re-inforce some of the mistakes and myths about TOEFL that are out there (you ever see those posts by people that have been stuck at 22-24 points for months, or even a year or more?..... most often, they are repeating the same mistakes about TOEFL again and again, and they do not even know it!). The other problem is security. Giving your skype or other info out to strangers, though probably not a bid deal, just makes be naturally nervous. So, I talked with our school's administration and they agreed to make an online room available for students to workshop their speaking sections, and it will be moderated by a teacher! Now please understand, this is not a class led by a teacher. Rather, this is an online "classroom" where students can speak with each other, and give each other feedback, securely. A teacher will moderate the speakings and will provide some comments, but the idea is that it will be generally student led. This is free. There is no charge or anything like that. If you are currently a member of our system, just follow the links and log in, if you are not a member you may: 1) PM me with your name and email and I will make you an account OR 2) If you are not sure about that yet, then just follow the link and then join as a GUEST. Later, if you like it, you can request a membership The "workshops" begin at either 9AM or 6PM California time (PST, or -8GMT). If you try to join too early you will get the message that the "meeting has not started yet". Here are the times and links: Monday starting at 9AM -- Adobe Connect Login Tuesday starting at 6PM -- Adobe Connect Login Wednesday starting at 9AM -- Adobe Connect Login Any questions or concerns, PM me! Thank you, Tino
  10. Just post here if you want a TestMagic t-shirt. At the end of the month (or thereabouts), we'll choose one person from this thread at random and send her or him a FREE t-shirt. We can't guarantee that it'll help your test scores go up, but who knows, it could help your luck! :) A couple of rules: First, U.S. addresses only. Second, one shirt per person, please. Finally, it would be nice if you could take a photo of yourself wearing the shirt and post it here or somewhere else (and link to it). It would just be interesting to see the different people wearing the shirt in different places. T-shirt sizes: Men's Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. And Women's Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large Edit: Discuss this thread here: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/lounge/127056-t-shirt-giveaway-discussion.html Some pics: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs610.snc4/59035_429868423650_9213098650_5236862_5105543_n.jpg
  11. I'm going to give away a bunch of t-shirts, but to kick things off, how about this? The first person to respond saying that she or he wants a free TestMagic t-shirt will get one. For free! Conditions? First, U.S. addresses only. Second, it would be nice if you could take a photo of yourself wearing the shirt and post it here or somewhere else (and link to it). It would just be interesting to see the different people wearing the shirt in different places. We have: Post here, and I'll PM you or email you for your address. I'll do this again in a few days, but the next time, I think it'll be a drawing for one or two t-shirts.
  12. Ever wanted to test your preparedness for one of the toughest tests - GMAT? Here is an ultimate free resource to test yourself. ExamPep The site has time based tests for each section and proves to be a valuable tool for GMAT Prep. Give it a try... it is FREE :) As you would have seen in ABOUT section of the website, I am the owner of ExamPep and have been striving to add a test each day. I have cleared my GMAT and have experienced the lack of practice tests as most of them were too costly for me. Every penny in savings counts as MBA fee would be thousands of dollars. To help MBA aspirants like me, I started offering these free tests. Creating each test takes around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the complexity of diagrams and equations. And the hosting costs aren't low [Ref: http://www.hostgator.com] apart from the domain name costs [Ref: godaddy.com] To alleviate these expenses, I had to opt for cpalead. On the average, it takes just 20 seconds to complete a survey and unlock the page. I felt that 20 seconds is too little when compared to the 75 minute test locked under it. If you still feel 20 sec is quite a lot, let me know and I can send you the unlock code for a test you choose and you can experience the quality. GMAT Test 1 Quantitative section has been updated. Check it out now... GMAT Practice Test - 1 Quantitative Here is a free practice test for GMAT Verbal section. Give it a try: GMAT Practice Test – 1 [Verbal] | ExamPep - Free Practice Tests Hello, Glad to announce that a new test has been added to the series of free gmat practice tests.
