The range of the five number is 2 or more. --------------- Now, we've got number 5 and 7, the range of this two number is 2, and if the average of all the five numbers is 8, there must be at least one number in x/y/z which is bigger than 8. so the range of all the five number can NOT be 2(must be greater than 2) --------------- Do you think the "III." is a correct choice or not? and why? Can somebody help me to solve the below questions in permutation and combination? Q1. A question paper has 6 multiple choice questions.First 3 questions have 4 options each, and next 3 questions have 5 options each. Only one option can be selected for any question. In how many ways can a person answer the question paper if: a.The person has to answer first 2 questions and remaining he can choose not to answer Q2.In how many ways can 4 different colored letters (red,blue,green and yellow) be put into 4 different envelopes(red,blue,green and yellow) so that atleast 1 letter does not go into same colored envelope? Given that one envelope can contain only one letter. Thanks in advance

Hello Everyone, i just recently decided to take the GRE test, i am overwhelmed by how much i have to read and the time limit. not sure how to use this site as i just discovered it yesterday. i am not the best at mathematics unfortunately and the English Language is proving to be tough, i would appreciate all the help i can get.

Hi, How to solve comparison questions like this: There are 5 points on a place situated such that none of the 3 points make a straight line. Which is greater? A: Number of different line segments that can be drawn taking any two points as fixed points. B: Number of different triangles that can be drawn taking any two points as two fixed vertex points. If you have the powerprep software, this is question #7 from Quantitative Comparison set 2. ie. "In the xy plane the point (o,a) is the center of the circle and the points (b,c) and (d,e) are on the circle" column a: b^2 + c^2 column b: d^2 + e^2 please explain how the answer is b. See attached
