  1. Hi Guys, I am preparing for GRE and my exam is in Jan '21. My math section is a little weak and inspite of that i found the vocab section the most trying. Remembering all these words is a task in itself and there are JUST SO MANY WORDS!!!!! :grief: So anyway when i couldnt do it myself i turned to apps which could help me atleast to some extent. In that search i came across an app by GREedge. The app is called GREedge WordBot and OMG guys the app is so amazing. It has visual aids to help remember the words, it has fun tests and clues and it also has levels which sort of feels like a game. The app has really made learning easy and so much fun. If anyone is facing the same problem as me i would definitely recommend you to try out this app. :eager: Also if anyone has any other better apps please so suggest.

  3. For both the sentence equivalence, and the fill in the blank, what concepts should I be thinking about while answering questions?
  4. When comprehending content for passages, what should I look for?
  5. To remember words easily you must stimulate the place where words and their meanings are stored – your brain. The human brain doesn’t bother registering things that are dull and looks out for things that are out of the ordinary, things that evoke a certain emotion in us. So we are likely to remember things that make us laugh, cry, feel disgusted, feel shy etc. Let me give you an example. Abscond – to depart secretly and hide. A.B.’s condom tore. She got pregnant and had to depart secretly and hide at her grandmother’s house. A sentence like that is bound to get some reaction from you. You may think that it is absurd or funny or disgusting to use such a situation to remember a word or maybe something else. Whatever the case may be, it will make your brain more active than reading a simple word and its meaning and that will help to stick the word in your memory. So try making mnemonics to learn words. Also try making a mnemonic that is closely related to the word. Check out the videos at this site to get a better idea - Learnodo Retaino Newtonic
  6. Hi guys, I took GRE some time back and vocabulary was the most difficult part for me. From the standard list of words, there were a lot I remembered but a few which I could never remember. I searched for a website which could test me on the words I did not know more frequently than the words I knew. I couldn't find such a website. Then I decided to create one. And now I have: Vocabulary GRE. Based on your right and wrong answers, it identifies your strong and weak words and will ask you YOUR weak words more frequently. The website is absolutely free to use and does not have advertisements to distract you. I am not making any money out of this. My goal is to just make it easier for everyone else to learn these words. One thing I will definitely appreciate is feedback. If this method proves helpful, I will extend it to cover quant as well. [DELETED BY MODERATOR] Thank you. Regards, Neerav Mehta.
  7. According to the new GRE pattern how would you place the importance of learning new vocabulary. Since the verbal section only has comprehension, sentence completion and equivalence?
  8. I'm a non-native English speaker. I want to apply for graduate schools in the States or Canada, so now I study for the GRE. But I don't know how to prepare for it, especially for its verbal section. Should I memorize Barron's master words list? Or the words that appear on the revised GRE have changed and other vocabulary materials are better than that words list? If there's anyone who's taken the test or has some pieces of info, please share your info. I would appreciate your kindness and help.
