Hi everyone. I am preparing for an GRE test next week and I am very scared about the AWA part. Here is my latest issue writing (with timing). Please help me rate the work. We know that without corporations the economy will soon be collapsed or becoming weak like it has happened in communism regime like the Soviet empire. As the world evolves, there are more and more requirement upon this main force of the economy. Not only making a lot of money like its origin purpose, some argues that corporation should also be responsible for its local environment and community well-being. I completely agree with this argument and I will give some supportive evidence in following paragraphs. Firstly, Company and corporations carries the most powerful force in the society. It holds most of the capital and workforce in modern society. Therefore, it is fair to say that corporation, along with the government is the main factor have ability to change things in our modern society. For example, take companies like Apple and Microsoft, with their huge capital, they can almost do anything like helping poor people in Africa or giving scholarship for most students in need in Asia. With the limited source of government only, I believe that the situation can’t be greatly changed. Secondly, it is the corporations that produces the main pollution to our environment. Many scientific research had pointed out that our industry production has dissipated millions of tons of toxic to the atmosphere as well as marine habitat. Furthermore, the negative effects of these polluted waste come much earlier than most people thinks. For example, in my country, there are more than 5 villages that had half of its inhabitants suffers from various types of cancer, which can be traced back to the by-product of local industrial operation. Therefore, it is fair to say that corporations should be at least take responsibility for their damage to local environment and community. Last but not least, Corporation works on people’s mutual benefit. Therefore, increasing the living standard of people should also benefit the corporation. In my conclusion, corporation should be responsible to maintain the well-being of local community as well as the environment.
