  1. Hello everyone, I'm an international student advisor and consultant. I'm here to learn and inform. Thank you.

  4. Dear all, I am graduating in two weeks. I have no job lined up(had a lot of interested employers but end up not getting the interview because they learned of my non-resident alien status). My life is a mess. I am an international student graduating this december double majoring in finance and international business, and minoring in economics. Have a 3.96 and graduating top of class. a lot of on campus work experience(lab tutor, supplemental instructor, internship at a credit union, student office assistant, ..... ) Since I am a international student, I need a job that can sponsor me h1b. No one is willing. I don't know if it is because my school is in the middle of no where and it is quite a no-namer for business majors. I have a lot of people emailing me to apply for jobs including vanguard but when I did and tell them(actually they asked me) my need of h1b then I get shut down, like completely. So I am trying to find a job that can sponsor me h1b. Please tell me if you know how to go about that. Which free website has a lot of good h1b sponsored jobs? Or do just need to suck it up and go to grad school for a masters then come back job hunting? My grad school applications are not going so well either. I mean I have a bad history with my previous school and also my GRE and GMats are not high enough. I need help with some direction and assistance. Please help me out. Going nuts. Why do I have to graduate this semester? :(:rolleyes::grad:
  5. I have read these info from h1base.com website, I think it worth reading... H1B visa filing fees are normally ALL paid by the Employer / Sponsor Company * USCIS fees for visa filing are legally required to be paid by the US Employer * Immigration Attorney Services for visa preparation and filing are NOT legally required to be paid by the US Employer (but normally are) Standard Filing Fee: The standard H-1B filing fee is $320 for the 1-129 petition. This fee is also payable for renewals, transfers, and amendments. Almost everyone has to pay this. There can also be additional fees at the consulate when applying from abroad. ACWIA (Training) Fee: The employer must pay a fee of $1,500 towards a training fee meant to fund the training of U.S. workers. But if the employer has less than 25 full-time employees, they must pay only one-half of the required fee which is $750 [see Section §214©(9) of the Immigration & Nationality Act]. The training fee is paid one time to initially grant the H-1B petition and to extend H-1B status. But if this is the second or subsequent extension with the same employer, then the training fee is not required. The following are exempt from the training fee: primary or secondary educational institutions, institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations related to or affiliated with any institutions of higher education, a nonprofit organization that engages in established curriculum-related clinical training of students registered at any institutions of higher education, nonprofit research organizations or a governmental research organizations [see Section 214©(9)(A) of the Immigration & Nationality Act and 8 C.F.R. §2l4.2(h)(19)(iii)-(iv). Fraud Fee: A $500 fraud prevention and detection fee is required for the initial H-1B petition or to switch employers. The fraud fee is not required for extensions with the same employer [see Section 214©(12) of the Immigration & Nationality Act]. Optional H1B Fees: Premium Processing - the $1,000 fee is almost always worth every penny. Decisions are made within 15 business days. Your lawyer is provided a direct telephone number and email address for the office, and the specific officer, handling your matter (should any issue arise that needs attention). And if applicable, your family’s H4 applications will be processed along with the primary H1B petition at no additional cost. Family members can apply as dependents of the primary H-1B applicant. The fee is $300. See Form I-539. Immigration Attorney Fees: It is recommended to use an immigration attorney to help prepare and file the application documents and forms. Attorney fees vary depending on the attorney you choose to use, but as a guideline you can expect to pay anywhere in the region of $1,000 - $2,000 The fee overview above is a good starting point. Good luck, George
