So I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask this but I’m not sure where else to start. I have been accepted to a few programs so far but some of the best ones are 9+ hours from where most of my family and friends are. I have epilepsy and have had 4 seizures in the last 2 years even on medication. In extreme cases , I have had to take a week or two off of work to recover (like if the seizure is especially long or when I got a concussion when I fell during the seizure). As of now I live alone a few hours from my support network and I am wondering how I would ask my professors/program about this (especially those far away). How likely are professors or students to be willing to help in these situations? (e.g. hospitals may require I leave with someone else, etc). How should I go about approaching this? Also how much better is a program ranking 55 vs 63 (the better ranked is much further)? Do you think the career opportunities are substantially different?

So I just got an email from one school that said the Econ department will recommend to the Graduate School that you be admitted to our PhD program. It also mentions a visitation day that I have to rsvp by Friday. I have two questions: 1. What does it mean to be recommended to be admitted? Is this essentially saying that I have admitted? 2. I am working several hours from the nearest large airport and about 12.5 hours from the school. I also have very limited PTO, so I don’t think I am really able to visit (this is the first response of 19 programs). How much does this hurt my admissions/funding prospects if I explain my situation to them? How often to full time professionals skip these events and how understanding are these schools? I was thinking of asking to speak with the professor who reached out via phone - how would that be taken?

Hi, I am a foreign pharmacy grad. I live in CA. I did my 1500 intern hours in community pharmacy setting. In 2014 I got my eligibility to take naplex, but I could not pass the naplex. Then due to family issues i was not able to take the exam untill now. However, when I applied for Pharamcy license exam, I got a deficiency letter asking for documents for my institutional hours. Since my intern license has been expired, I can not practice in any settings. Besides, I am confused why I got eligible in 2014 and now I can not. I would appreciate if you give me your advice. Thanks

Hi, Has anyone recently submitted an application for exam/license in California? I get really confused if the board asks hospital intern hours from foreign graduates, or we can go only with outpatient pharmacy experience? I wrote to the board and they replied they want 600 hours inpatient experience, which really shocked me, as finding a hospital internship is really hard. I would greatly appreciate your answers and help!
