  2. Hello, dear friends, Please give me your feedback about my independent essay. The topic is: Movies are popular all over the world. Explain why movies are so popular. Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer. Entertainment, which is the art of making the time more interesting and painfulness, has been one of the most important activities in cultures. In early times, it was achieved in many different ways: the joker in big kingdoms, the Olympic games in Greek culture, and the celebrations and parties in Rome empire. Nowadays, entertainment has evolved into movies, submerging people’s life into different histories, roles, and dramas, contributing to forget people’s problems and sufferings. In my opinion, movies have become too popular due to the easiness of access and the wide range of topics covered. Firstly, Movies are in any single place of the world, from homes to nearly any place on earth. The easiness of watching movies is a result of today’s technologies achievements. Novel smart devices such as mobile phones, tablets, smart tv, and laptops, which are used broadly by a high percentage of the population, allow people to enjoy their preferred movies anywhere and almost at any time. Additionally, there are many movie’s categories, like romantic, drama, scare, kids, documentary, and others, that satisfy a huge number of people preferences. Moreover, the searching mechanism has been improved by new multimedia platforms like Netflix, Amazon Movies, Youtube, and so on, allowing the movie’s lovers to find out what they want. To summarize, movies have become very popular as a result of the easy access and the broad range of topics covered, giving satisfaction to a high percentage of the demand.
  3. I was doing a GREmath practice book and came across this question. P(A or B) = 0.60 and P(A) = 0.20 a. Find P(B) given that events A and B are mutually exclusive. b. Find P(B) given that events A and B are independent. For part a. I understand, P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) therefore, P(B) is 0.40, and that agrees with the answer key. But, for part b. I'm not sure whats going on. I feel like it must be something simple that I'm missing. For independent cases I know that P(A and B) = P(A)P(B), but I don't see how to get P(B) The answer key says that for part b, P(B) is 0.50, could anyone help me in understandin this one? Thanks
  4. Can anyone grade or comment on my essay? Thanks in advance. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important aspect of a job is the money a person earns. When applying for a job, people usually take various factors into consideration. For majority of people the money is the most significant aspect of a job. In spite of this, there are a plenty of people who prefer an interesting job to a highly paid one. From my perspective, the salary is the main aspect of any occupation for several significant reasons. Thus, in the following paragraphs I will explain my agreement in detail. First of all, in order to get a highly paid job, people have to graduate a college as well as a graduate school. Getting higher education is really expensive. Therefore the number of students getting loans in order to pay their tuition fees is increasing rapidly. After graduation they have to spend a significant part of their salary to pay the debt. Because of this, I think that the money that they get for their job is really essential for them. Secondly, in my country majority of people prefer to get married right after completing their education. Besides themselves married people are responsible for their spouses and children. Therefore, I believe that they have to get enough salary so that they can provide their family with comfortable life. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that these are not the only reasons to support the idea that the salary is the most essential feature of a job. I have certainly not discussed all of them. Nonetheless, I strongly believe that repaying the loans and being responsible for family are the main reasons why money is so important in a job. For all of these reasons, I think that money is the key aspect of any job.
