Hello, folks! I am targeting the upcoming Fall 2023 application cycle (deadlines will roll in soon š ). I do not have a research-based background, so I am finding it tricky to identify schools that provide good training/ produce good research output in OT/ Institutional Theory/ macro OB. I can think of the usual names like Stanford, UAlberta, UofToronto, Schulich York, and Penn State. But, with your help, I would like to expand this list. Geography is not a constraint. Even Strategy programs with a strong OT/ Inst. Theory foci are OK. So, I'd appreciate your leads š Cheers!

Hi Guys, Iām looking at applying for a PhD this fall, and Iām looking to see whether I fit in better in āmanagementā or āorganizational behaviorā programs. Iām interested in studying economic sociology from a business perspective, specifically looking at organizational theory. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I want to look at questions about how organizational structure affects organizational decision making. As a result, I seem to fall into that āmacro OBā category which seems to be a bit of a grey area in business schools. Many departments have a āmanagement and organizationsā department, which is perfect, but for those that just have āmanagementā and āOBā I could really use any thoughts you have. Iāll of course look at things on a school-by-school basis, but I wondered if you guys knew of any differences in background requirements, admissions selectivity, career paths, etc? Any insights you have would be great.
