Some people argue that the government should give every unemployed person a mobile phone and should make sure they have access to the Internet. They believe this is the best way of using public money to reduce the problem of unemployment. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Unemployment has a long history. It is a problem which over the time has only increased instead of reducing even after being well versed with its effects. One of the main reasons for unemployment is immense growth in the rate of population year after year. Government, though trying all variety of solutions, is unable to deal with the issue successfully till date. Many believe providing unemployed with a mobile phone and internet facility can help in decreasing the rate of unemployment. Majority of the population does not have the privilege of using technology due to lack of money. This will help jobless people in finding new jobs matching their skill set and also, learn new if a job demands. In addition, via internet one can do certifications or watch videos and enhance his/her talent. Contrary to the previous statements, mobile phone and internet access can deviate many people from achieving their goal, finding a new job or doing certifications online, by being a source of wastage of time in unnecessary things. In today’s world, cell phones and internet have become a boon rather than a bliss. Instead of being of help, it can also turn as a reason for unemployment. Alternatively, the government should just provide mobile phones, appreciate small businesses and foreign investment, which will in return create job opportunities for the needy. To conclude, in my opinion, though providing mobile phones and internet services is a good suggestion but there are several other ways where public money can be used more effectively and efficiently serving the problem of unemployment. Lack of jobs is a pivotal issue and should be addressed with a full proof plan, as things are depleting day by day.

Would it be beneficial or detrimental to my overall application to have online extension courses from say Harvard Extension School in addition to the master's degree and RA experience? I've heard that online courses are a waste of time and money, but I think doing well in an actual Harvard course (albeit online extension) can be seen as a positive indicator?

Question : Some young adults want independence from their parents as soon as possible.Other young adults prefer to live with their families for a longer time. Which of these situations do you think better? Answer : Humans are social beings who cannot live alone and family members are the one who supports people no matter what happens with anyone’s life. Personally, I believe that living with families for a long time has unmatched advantages which can give a head start to achieve ultimate success in life. I feel this way for two main reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. First of all, family members can give you emotional and mental support which you wouldn't find from anyone in your life. Human life is fraught with dangers and everyone has their ups and downs in life. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When i broke up with my girlfriend in my early twenties, I quickly fell into depression. I used to cry a lot, always thinking about suicide and gloomy thoughts. In sum, my emotional and mental state was self-destructing and detrimental for achieving any kinds of success in life. But nothing bad happened and I overcame fear and depression because my family was always there for me. They gave me emotional and mental support which I was in badly need of. Secondly, Living with family has a sweet perk of gaining financial support when needed. Specially, when people are in their young adults phase, taking big projects in hand or investing money in businesses is not uncommon. However, I business taking a loss for some time is not abnormal, in fact, it happens all the time. In this case, People who live with their family can borrow some money from the parents or other family members to keep their business going. For example, my big brother invested a fair sum of money in stock exchange in his twenties. Unfortunately, he had made some bad calls and lost a big chunk of that money. he immediately moved in to live with my parents to lessen some of his living costs and, also borrow some money from my dad to make up for the loss. In conclusion, I strongly believe that living with families for a longer time garner many unparalleled advantages compared to living alone. One reason for my argument is, It can decrease your living costs greatly and will grant you financial support. Another appealing reason is living with families actually prevent people to breakdown from emotional distress as there is always family members with them to support.

I am evaluating a few offers I have received this cycle. The funding ranges from 30k/year to 40k/year, with various mixes of fellowship and RA/TA responsibility. Ideally I'd compare these offers against the full distribution of funding offers given to business phds, but that data is obviously not available. In the absence of such data, can you please give me your thoughts on whether 30-40k/year is a decent offer? How does it compare to the median offer? Do funding offers vary by concentration: Finance, Accounting, Strategy, Marketing and Bus Econ? If so, what are approximate averages for these different concentrations? Also, does funding vary by school ranking? What are average offers in the T20, T50, etc? Just another applicant trying to inform himself before making a decision.

I am doing a project, which I am creating a stock exchange for professional athletes. Athletes are valued based on statistical performances. So depending on the amount of buyers and sellers the price of the athletes will fluctuate. The problem I am facing is what value do you receive if you purchase stock in the athlete? Is it possible to have a value? For example when you purchase stock in a company you become part owner you may be able to receive dividends, or voting rights. What value could you receive for purchasing an athlete’s statistical performances? I have read into how bitcoin is valued but I do not completely understand it?

  Your school has received a gift of money. What do you think is the best way for your school to spend this money? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.  In my opinion, the best way for my school to spend the gift of money it received is to use the money for the updating or improvement of its learning facilities, such as the library, the computers, the laboratory equipment, the sports equipment, and so on. I see that many of those facilities have been out-of-date so that the learning process won’t yield the maximal result if the facilities are not updated or improved. As known everywhere, we live in the dynamically changing world. Technology changes in an ever-increasing rate. If we can’t keep up with the dynamic changes of technology, we will lag behind in advancement, progress, and development. In the long run, we can’t expect to be able to compete with other societies in order to survive in the modern world. Of course, we don’t want our students to lag behind. Therefore, we have to prepare them to brave, survive, and then win the future. We have to provide them with the best education we can afford. As we can see, our world today has been much influenced and dominated by technology. Almost all aspects of life have been affected or touched by technology. As a consequence, in order to prepare our students to respond well to the demands and challenges of the modern world, technology should be an integral part of our education system. Since technology is usually introduced with the aid of learning facilities (such as computers, laboratory equipment, and sports equipment), the continual updating and improvement of such facilities in my school are really indispensable, in order to enable both the teachers and the students to always keep up with the recent developments of technology. We have learned from experience that continually updated facilities will make learning process not only easier but also more enjoyable and more encouraging. In conclusion, to make the best use of the gift of money it received, my school should first list its top priorities and then use the money to finance the most prioritized ones. In my opinion, one of such priorities is the continual updating and improvement of its learning facilities. :)
