  1. Prompt: Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Directions:Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. Essay: A successful leader needs to express a multitude of important characteristics. Two of these characteristics are good moral judgment and the ability to hold the respect of peers. It is more important that a leader maintains respect from his peers over possessing strong moral judgment because having respect increases the effectiveness of the leader and their actions while in power. Maintaining the respect of peers allows a leader to inact productive measures. When a leader is highly regarded in the eyes of the public, people are more likely to trust and throw public support behind their decisions. For example, if the leader of a high school math club inacted the decision to expand the club to include gifted 8th graders, his decision would be supported and trusted more by his peers if he already has a foundation of respect. This decision has little to do with moral judgment and a lot to do with the respected decision making process of the leader. If respect were to be absent, his peers may counter this idea and prevent the inclusion. Therefore, respect from peers is essential for productive actions and change from a leader. Additionally, maintaining respect as a leader is important to keeping the position as leader and preventing civil unrest. Leadership should be built on a solid foundation that is trusted by the constituents. If the constituents do not respect who is in charge, then there is the chance for rebellion against the leadership and the leader would loss their position. For example, if the leader of the math club posted on his social media about how much he hated math, then his return to school on the Monday would likely be met by extreme scrutiny from his peers. This loss of respect would likely lead to his downfall as the leader of the team and the decision to include gifted 8th graders would never go forward. Therefore, respect remains a critical aspect of keeping ones leadership position and preventing rebellion. However, there are situations in which sound moral judgment can be more important than maintaining respect. For example, as a powerful leader, such as the President of the United States, it is important to resist temptations of corruption and instead follow sound moral judgment to make smart, empathetic decisions for the public. Making decisions based on a solid foundation of moral judgment is crucial for social change even though it may cause the loss of respect in certain populations. For example, when President Obama ruled gay marriage legal in the United States, he was making this decision partly based on his moral judgment as a leader. Although this decision lead to the loss of respect in the more conservative populations, the moral soundness that he expressed through this judgment was extremely beneficial for society. Therefore, it was more important in this circumstance that the leader expressed moral soundness over caring about the respect of his peers. In conclusion, maintaining respect as a leader is often more important than having sound moral judgment because the actions and decisions of the leader can be more productive and successful with the respect of peers. What the leader lacks in moral judgment can often be made up by the willingness of his peers to help form and support the leader's decisions.
  2. In order for any company to improve their business effectively and efficiently, workers must be under the correct guidance in order to progress. However, every company must have a designated leader to help guide the company in the right direction. There are several characteristics that make a leader great with some weighing more than others. For example, a leader's ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers is more important than having sound moral judgement. A leader wanting respect towards his/her peers has detrimental effects to the progression of the group. Without showing respect to your peers, you are inherently causing a severe lack of communication because you won't consider what any other person's opinion may be. If CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, had no respect for the people who worked for him, Amazon would be far from being one of the top selling websites in the country. Proper communication aids in creating further progress which positively affects all workers. Moreover, not only will respect create better communication between peers, it will also create a mutual respect between the peers and their leader. "I'll respect you, if you respect me" can not be more relevant to circumstances between a leader and their peers in society today. With hot topics such as feminism and racism, society has now more than ever considered respect a crucial fundamental aspect of any individual. Only when one feels as they are being respected, especially by their leader as being someone greatly admired, will they then show their respect towards that individual. Aside from maintaining respect to one's peers, as a leader, maintaining a general sense of morality is also needed. Without having a common sense of morality, a leader will not discern what may be accepted. However, if a leader emphasizes more on the perception of morality and doesn't emphasize the need for respect, then how would one react to someone from their peers with different morals as them? Without having the fundamental quality of respect, your conspicuous actions against those with opposing opinions of you will cause negative effects on your image as a person, especially as a leader. Nonetheless, when you show respect to someone, you inherently respect everything about them--including their morals regardless of what they are. Ultimately, a leader's ability to maintain respect for his or her peers should be emphasized more than having a good sense of moral judgement.

Here goes my response A leader who is well respected amongst his peers is a motivated and happy person thus proving very effective in motivating his subordinates/peers as well. But, if garnering respect comes at the cost of him having to choose between being moral or not, the person is better off being morally sound. A leader who is not morally sound is inefficient in his task as a leader and this fact will always fill them with guilt. People will look down upon them. A leader's ego is most satisfied when he garners respect from his/her peers, but if it were to be compared to the moral judgement of a person, moral judgement according to me always comes out on top. When a leader is morally sound, he exudes a positive vibe that is infectious to his/her followers, thus creating a culture of morality amongst his followers in their judgements. Another compelling argument to support my position would be that when a morally sound person make important decisions he considers the interests of all the stakeholders without being selfish or biased. This, in turn promotes a culture where no one's interests is neglected. A decision taken with a moral outlook, might even do as to harm a leader's standing amongst his peers, when they see him neglecting a popular decision in favor of a decision which is morally sound.At this point, the individuals approach should be towards being moral rather than impressing his peers. But if we consider the other side of the argument, a leader who garners less respect from his peers,is mostly unhappy, there is lack of motivation in his/her worklife thus impacting the overall well being of the person and his family, hence being immoral to himself and his family. But, all facts considered a person is better off being occasionally unhappy from loosing respect amongst his peers because he took an unpopular decision, rather than go for a popular decision which is morally wrong.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD] [/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE]
  4. Issue: Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Content: Judging soundly the moral characteristics and maintaing the respect of peers are not same thing for a leader . Firstly, Judging moral characteritics gives the leader a unique quality that how fine he can give a decision regarding a factor . People can recognize a leader through the observation of his judging capabilities by this way . Again people also able to know how moral judgemental facts lies inside that leader. Its helps to bring enough faith for a leader if one is right in his ethics,norms and responsibilities. A leader himself know him better than outside people,thus applying moral characteristics during judgement of a issue is very important. Ensuring equal right for all people can only be get when a jugde is at its best ,right and responsible mood. Only in this situation authentic decision regarding a issue can be find from a judge. On the other hand, It is not the only responsibility for a judge to give moral judgement but also to respect his peers . Respecting the fellows is an important factor in a human life . Because its not everything that i am performing my duties , so thats all. But one judge should also have a corner in his mind for respecting his peers. It will give him the accceptability to the mass people .People will be happy with such behave from judge because it satisfies their expected demand. Though it is found that many of our leader dont recognize the people after going to top managerial position , thus from this situation ,getting proper judgement become tough sometimes. If a judge remember in his mind that , we all are people of same flesh blood , so we should respect each other .And only when we can culture this in our mind and daily life ,we can be a real human being. So,we should all try to be a good human while most of us try to be a leader and wants money,power . But being a true leader with moral characteristics and good respect to the peers will make a leader a perfect leader with enough human qualities. We will shoutly then tell , its a true leader .
  5. (Question is there in the attachments) A leader is an individual who is charge of a number of individuals, institution, or an organization. As such, he must possess certain qualities to be successful or effective. the more important of these qualities are excellent moral judgment and the respect of his peers. while it is necessary for a leader to command the respect of their peers, it is even more essential that they are someone with sound moral judgment. A leader who emphasizes on morals will do what is best for their people. consider the example of the leader of a nation. they might make a policy decision that immensely benefits their subjects, but costs the government coffers a large sum of money. one such example would be free healthcare. while taxes would rise for the people, they would obtain reliefs in healthcare payments. this policy may be ridiculed by the leader's opponents or even other party members, but it ultimately worked towards the greater good. Role models play a huge part in influencing the choices people make. A morally sound leader always strives to uphold a certain standard, regarding ethics and general well-being. They are aware that their subjects or employees look to them for guidance and direction. if the leader can positively influence their lives, he will have made the world a better place for future generations. consider a company's CEO. if he chooses to follow a policy of never being late to work, the employees will also strive to emulate this behaviour. this will increase the productivity of the company. a leader with such qualities can change the mindset of his peers as well. many a time, other leaders have selfish, profit-minded motivations, which may be detrimental to people around them. A CEO may only think about his dividends from the company, while paying his employees the minimum wage. A fellow industry leader with morals will be pivotal in showing him the error of his ways. Many leaders today take pay cuts themself just to maintain the salaries of their employees. While it is essential for a leader to have sound moral judgment, it can be detrimental to them at times. due to his staunch beliefs, a leader may alienate himself from his peers. for example, in a board meeting a majority is required for making certain decisions. A leader who lacks the support of his peers may not be able to enact certain policies he proposes. It is evident that an effective leader must possess moral judgment which is beyond reproach. this will benefit himself as well as the people around him.

Issue task-01-Magoosh Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. – Topic definition The statement represents a view that I am not fully agree about its main notions, moral judgment and maintaining the peers’ respect, to be considered as two opposite sides of one spectrum, but considering them as a “cause and effect” issue, would suggest a better logical impression. – Transition to thesis This blanket statement put the ability of a leader for making unbiased decisions in front of his or her ability to gain admiration form the peers while there is an interaction sense between both abilities and the two do not exclude each other. For instance, a hypothetical leader in a building company which force his group members to work hardly, out of their working hours, to complete a project sooner than the due time, just in order to show his abilities to the peers and gain their attention, actually will lose the insight of a moral judgment in the cost of receiving the peers’ respect, while the peers also, which witnessing his actions, would not respect him even though expressing their gratitude. Given the history of the leaderships, it is proved that at the end of the day people would deeply admire leaders which consider the human rights and ethical standards in his or her decisions. This is what, as I mentioned above, should be regarded as a “cause and effect “issue in which without having a moral judgment, gaining respects, in general terms, would rarely happen. In fact, this is the human nature that we all profoundly respect leaders and admire their effective personality according how much they make impassioned decisions in hard situations which benefit both their team members and the company. – Thesis As we will discuss below, the ability to gain the attention of other leaders through adjusting the unbiased decisions would lead to an effective and stable personality for a leader. This also means that the interaction of both ability is vital for a powerful leadership personality. – Body 01 To expand on this opinion, it is important for an effective leader to be careful about the second half of the statement and do not sacrifice the ethical issues in order to receive the respect of his or her peers. Take for instance, a company leader which fires a team member at the middle of a serious meeting held with other companies, just because that person did not prepare the presentation file for that companies, on time. This severe action not only cannot attract the other leaders admire but also will create a big question mark about the leader’s qualifications to deal with the issues in the hard circumstances. Now, assume that the leader deals with this unlucky accident with empathy and, despite of some other leader’s annoyance or the risk of losing the project, postpones the meeting for the another day and in person, warns that employee about his or her irresponsibility. Certainly, the other leaders will esteem this in control personality especially when they encounter a professional presentation work via their upcoming meeting. It is where I mention that the interplay of both abilities, means having a moral judgment to get the admire of his peers, will work powerfully for a leader to be regarded as an effective personality. – Body 02 In contrast to the statement, and while the interaction of both abilities is yet valid, having a moral judgment plays more important role in this story. In fact, there is a subtle difference between the efficacy of the two. That hypothetical leader which her moral judgment marked him out, will have a great chance to be respected by his peers as an effective character, even if he does not mind to get their admiration. But in contrast a boss which just try to attract the other peers’ respect, without considering the morality in his judgment, certainly, would not be seen as a powerful leader, but a social climber. Perhaps the better say for this statement would be to state, “Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers through proving them his or her ability in moral judgments.” – Body 03 This last example provides the most proof in how focusing on one side of this spectrum, the ability of making moral judgments, and reinforcing it, would affect the other side of the spectrum in a positive and short way, receiving the most praise of the peers without trying hard to reach it directly. Consider how the company and team members would benefit from an ethical leader which makes good decisions. This is while the leader himself/herself also benefits from the popularity gained in accordance to his or her moral judgments, among other peers and employees. Actually the most successful leaders, all over the history, were the ones who first established the moral compasses of their companies and groups and after that it was the respect which sought them in every corner not they searched for it. – Conclusion In conclusion, one may accept one of the two main notions expressed in this all-encompassing statement, but surely a successful leader would sustainably gain the other peers’ respect just through applying the moral compasses.
