profile evaluation request Evaluate my profile for a PhD
Artym posted a topic in Graduate Admissions
Hey, I am from India and my profile is as below: Undergrad: B.Tech - Computer Engineering - CGPA of 9.05/10 (As per Columbia Univ conversion it comes to around 3.97) Grad: Post Grad Program in Management from IIM Shillong (A top 15 B School in India) - CGPA of 8.05/10 (As per Columbia Conversion it is around 3.68/4) (Majority of electives I had taken were of Finance) I had a research paper published during my undergrad, but no research work published later. I have negligible work experience. GRE: 169 Q, 163 V TOEFL: 114 I understand it is extremely difficult to get into a top-20 PhD program in US, so can you please tell me where I can apply, as in which Universities I have a fair chance. I am applying for MS-Financial Engg program at Columbia, CMU, NYU, UCB. Would it improve my chances of getting into a better PhD program if I finish my MS-FE from a good university? Thanks in advance!
