hi there , i'm just feel that probability is easy unless came to part of properties , need explain about this involving probability of 2 events are not mutually exclsive
this is the look of Not Mutually exclusive property
P(E OR F) = P(E) + P(F) - P(E AND F)
i need to know what is the P(E AND F) , here is example to help for explaining this question , thank for help anyway
Example 4: One student's name will be picked at random to win a CD player. There are 12 male seniors, 15 female seniors, 10 male juniors, 5 female juniors, 2 male sophomores, 4 female sophomores, 11 male freshmen and 12 female freshman.
b) a freshman or a female is picked. Round answers to three decimal places.
i need to know exactly why we choosed P(E AND F) to be 12/71
