Hey all, I'm wondering what is the way to handle RA offers while waiting for PhD results? I've applied to some RA positions and expecting to hear back most likely before PhD results come in. My current mindset is that I would prefer to get into a top choice PhD program over doing a year or two of RA work but I would prefer to take the RA position over a "safety school". However, there's no way of me knowing what programs I get into before I have to (most likely) decide whether I take certain RA positions. Does anybody know what the standard convention is when it comes to handling these dilemmas? Thanks a ton!

Hello. I am waiting for the admission results from the universities mentioned above (except for Mannheim, applications open in a few days) and thought it could fruitful, while waiting, to compare or discuss about their programmes (or even other considerations not strictly related to academic matters). Yet, first of all, is there anyone around who applied for the same programmes (i.e. UC3M MAE, PSE APE)? -
Hey guys, I am spanish student. Try to excuse my english, I am still not very fluent. I did the GRE test two weeks ago. In percentile, my scores equal to: Verbal 149 = 42% Quantitative 165 = 93% Analytical writing 3.5 = 29% I am disappointed about my analytical results, and worried because in many progrmas they do not only require quantitative scores. My intention is going to a good school with a good master program in Economics. As examples: Boston University, Cambridge or Barcelona GSE. What is your experience, do you think that my poor results in the analytical section would be an obstacle? Thank you so much in advance!
