Hi you all! I'm applying this cycle and have a couple of questions regarding the writing sample: 1) Is it frowned upon to send a co-authored writing sample? I wrote an M.A. thesis that later developed into a joint paper with my former advisor. I could send the "thesis version" which is entirely written by me, but it's notoriously less polished and has just the main results so in terms of quality it would be clearly better to send the working paper version (though I should say we haven't released it publicly yet, as it still needs more work). Among the ~15 programs I'm applying to, only one states explicitly that the WS should be solo-authored. 2) Should I send the WS to programs in which it is optional to do so? Specially if it's better not to send the coauthored version, I'm not particularly proud of my thesis to be honest. It's a reasonably well written piece but the results are not really groundbreaking whatsoever (it's a theory paper btw). If it helps, I have a strong profile and should be aiming at the top 10 with a reasonable chance at the top 5 (on a regular year, at least, no idea how things will work out with covid and all). Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I was wondering do universities usually send accepted/rejected/waitlisted notifications around the same time, or do they send rejections at the end (like around April)

How long will it take for nabp to receive toefl report and give an update on the e-profile if I send it after I got my score? I did not send it while applying just for the reason that I can still have it re-scored in case it's just a 1 point difference

Hi everyone, I'd like to know if it's necessary to send the transcript of the first undergrad program I was enrolled, since I spent only 2 semesters on it and then moved to economics. Also, here in my country people usually does a Master before applying to a PhD program worldwide. I have major concerns about my bad grades in the first program, it was a tough year for me, while my performance at the economics/math classes was reasonable good. Should I send only the economics transcript?

Hi guys, I am considering retaking the GRE (past scores: Q 164 V 148). Do you think that taking the GRE several times have any negative effect on the application for a top Ph.D.? Until now I took only once, but how about someone who took the GRE 3,4,5 times and only then got the desired outcome? Also, how do admission committees look about the Score Select option? I heard that it is possible to send only one's best scores. Is it really possible? or schools ask you to send them the result of all the tests? Thx
