  1. Question : Some young adults want independence from their parents as soon as possible.Other young adults prefer to live with their families for a longer time. Which of these situations do you think better? From time of even the foragers, young adults have stayed in the guidance and sight of their parents. Living and staying under guidance of family nurtures a bond and intimacy amongst members and younger ones, in particular, as it helps in moulding and imparting a sense of oneness and love for family members amongst the young adults. In my opinion, it is wise for young adults to stay with their family for a longer time. It only helps both the younger ones and the family as well in long run. First of all, when the younger ones stay with the family, they can directly share their problems wit hthe more experienced and elder family members. There are instances where younger ones stayng away from family and being bullied upon by colleagues or schoolmates often gets depressed as they donot have anyone to share their feelings with. In such case presence of family members is always supportive to younger adults. Adolescent is also a ripe age for young adults to walk on a wrong path, the close watch of family does counters any possibilty of such likes. Second, it’s not only the younger adult that are benefitted but also the family as well when the younger section stays along. With technological improvement, there is a huge gap developing between the newer and older generation. The presence of younger ones in family does help the elder ones in tackling the day to day tasks like online shopping, reserving a flight and so. Also, The pesence of young ones adds colours to life and motivates the elder ones to stay happy and joyous. While the elder ones are not able to take care of themselves the presence of young ones does add a hand in the care, when in need. In conclusion, The sense of oneness and the support of family members can never be debated. Togetherness of a family is like a bunch of sticks that is hard to bend but when the sticks are dispersed individually, each can be easily broken. Younger adults should stay with family members for as long as possible, for the pressure of jobs and career advancement is going to take them away one day or the other. And then both side will be left all alone on their own self.
  2. I would be highly obliged if you could read my essay and provide some valuable review for TOEFL. Qus: Some parents forbid young children from owning smart phones (cell phones with Internet access), while others disagree and believe that they are important tools for keeping in touch. Which point of view do you think is better, and why? My Answer: Technology is always changing and has evolved from one form to another to make the human life much easier. When we talked about the Science and Technology, we sometimes criticized about its bad consequences in human lives too. Smartphone with the internet connection is one of the major advancement in recent technologies makes it the most discussing topic of this era. Some parents believe that it will create worse effects on young minds and should be unavailable to them until they are matured enough. Personally, I share the same space. The current trend in Smartphone industry is making the device with lure features that eventually attract the young minds. Definitely, students will less be concerned about their study, rather will focus more on video games, social networking, and others. As this is the most precious times for them to grow and learn, to stop them from wasting their valuable times, students should be barred from the Smartphone especially with the internet. Although, parents can still be connected with their child using the device without internet. When I was a child, there was lack of communication medium and had no or little internet connection, but still, parents were less worried as they could still be in touch with me via the telephone. So, parents can easily adopt with the pros and cons of the technology and should shape themselves for sake of their own child's. Moreover, recent studies have shown that the road accident is almost increased dramatically since after the mobile technology unveiled. Government is also trying to provoke the people not to use mobile while driving and traveling but still it doesn't make much of the awareness. As the young students are more reluctant on the side effects of mobile devices, it would become parents responsibility to make them understand the proper uses of mobile. I've seen many students nowadays using the cell phone with a headset on the road, and they are totally less concern about the surroundings traffic. Social networking is another important thing which makes a huge difference in the usages of the Smartphone. Rather than the physical connection, the student tends to believe or more comfortable on the virtual platform which eventually destroys their communication skill. For example, when students couldn't able to make process, they need to connect with their peers, friends, and professors to convey their problems. And, they are not feeling comfortable talking to them directly rather via the chat tool or could be some other virtual platform. Although, there are lot of tools or application readily available for parental control, however, still I could believe if you take the right decision about the Smartphone in early students age, then it will save them destroying the future careers.
  3. Would you please correct the grammar, speeling and other mistakes. Besides that, I would be grateful if someone who have already taken the test make some comments about it content.. Some people say that the internet provides people with a lot of valuable information. Others think access to so much information creates problems. Which view do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer. The Internet has changed today's life. As such, some people are more likely to gain valuable information instantly from this technology, while others claim that they feel lost with so many information. All things together, I believe that the internet has more advantages than disadvantages, and I will discuss it in my essay. First, before internet was invented people search information on books. To clarify, books are a very good way to get information but it takes more time to get ones questions solved. Differ from the internet, which has some famous websites, such as, Google and Yahoo, where we can find an answer for almost everything. For example, my father studied medicine thirty years ago and at this time internet had not been invented. So, he studied with books, and he says he had read hundreds of books during his college to get his doubts clarified. He says that after internet was invented to study medicine or other subjects were much easier because it is easier to find information on internet than in books. This example clearly shows that internet make search easier and cheaper. Second, at the same time that this famous websites make search easier, one cannot trust 100% on it. In other words, anyone can post everything and in some cases the information is not correct. For instance, another famous websites is called "wikepedia", the information which is posted on this website is provided by normal people while the information on books is provided by specialized authors. So, everybody need to take care when they search things online for papers and homeworks. In addition, everybody need to be in mind that when we search on internet we need to know who is the author of the information. To conclude, internet is there to help students to get information fast and for free. However, we need to take care with the origin of this information, because sometimes it can be wrong or not 100% correct.
  4. Hi, Please let me know your options.... Regards ........... Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship between people. “Each coin has two sides.” This old saying clearly shows that when faced make a decision, generally, you will have advantages coupled with disadvantages. Always telling the truth - one of the most debated topic over the ages - is just one side of the coin. That is why some people prefer not to tell the truth due to diminish the most of unwilling effects on their relationships. But others, in contrast, agree with the statement and believe that being frank is the basis of any relationship. As far as I’m concerned, I would strongly agree with this statement. I will elaborate my arguments in the next paragraphs. To begin with, when you are not always frank in a relationship, it can force you to keep telling the lie more and more. In other words, whenever you want to talk about something related to your previous lie, you have to make another story. I mean, you tell the first lie and then another one and after a while you admit that not aware of an infinite chain of lies. As an illustration, if you take a look at the most marriage lives that lead to the divorce, couples usually doubt on each other as the result of not telling the truth. Up to a point, I definitely prefer not being worried about the consistency of the stories that I have made before or have to make in the future. Afterward, some people believe that in a relationship tell a white lie in order not to make their partners annoyed, is a good idea. I would rather not agree with that because it gradually would become your personality. Even though, you tell a lie to make another feel happy, in a long period of time you learn not to tell the truth because of its benefits. In a like manner, this behavior contradicts with one of the key criteria in any relationship, begin committed. I remember at the beginning of my marriage life, I was so strange and annoying to my wife because of frankly speaking. Fortunately, after a while, she considered it commitment and now we totally trust each other. As a point, dealing with some temporary problems can lead to a steady relationship even without white lies. We all have heard a lot an old proverb that says “Honesty is the best policy”, I think it can always work even though has some deficiencies. Actually, dealing with unimportant or temporary problems helps you to have a permanent relationship. All in all, we can safely draw the conclusion that always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship.
  5. Q: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use than there are today. ...... There is debate concerning whether there will be fewer cars in use in the future. As far as I am concerned, I strongly disagree with this statement. A big change in the life style coupled with an unbelievable rate of technological progress support my idea and would lead to more driving alone. My arguments are given as bellow. To begin with, some evidences undoubtedly show a vast growth in the rate of moving from rural areas to the city or suburbs. The current policy in the most countries is not at least in the mid-term preventing from urbanization. In contrast, most people who live in rural areas -which are usually low income areas- have to move to the cities dreaming of enhancing their quality of life. In other words, the public will have more tendency to urbanization and live more close to urban due to reduce job commute. We also can not deny that people who live in the city are more enthusiastic to go on trip and drive lonely. This mainly change in the settlement patterns and life style would definitely lead to the increase in the number of people who drive alone in the future. Afterward, development of technology is not going to stay at the same level. The incredible undeniable pace of technological progress will bring us several benefits. At first it would help companies to reduce their costs and also the price of their production in order to stay competitive. Today most people in the world can not afford car prices. New technologies will bring the countries more ability to improve infrastructures and clearly the more enhancement in the quality of life. Also some predicts, for example, a recent one by Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, have reported these pros as the results of the technology in the future. Needless to say, the more quality of life, the more demands to buy new things such as car. Thinking into what has discussed above, our future life would be influenced by the incredible role of technology. One of its specific results would be the better quality of life, thereupon more people who will be more eager to buy those things that currently can not afford. An old saying goes "The more you have, the more you get". It is obviously says that no matter what goes right, you always want to earn more and more. All in all, I can safely draw the conclusion that in twenty years, there will be more cars in use than there are today
  6. Some people prefer to live in a small town, while others find interest living in a big city. But before I state my opinion I have to admit that like anything these ideas also has advantages and disadvantages. However, I would much rather live in a big city than in a countryside. There are several arguments to show why I think so. Firstly, I would like to say that living in a big city makes my life more comfortable and interesting, because there are so many amenities. In a big city you have an opportunity to get a good knowledge and improve your skills than in a small town because the most prestigious universities with the best professors are collected there. The good knowledge will help you to find a good job with a high salary, so job opportunities are much greater in a big city than in a small town. For instance, now I work as a trainee at broadcasting company called “Imedi TV” which is located in a big city. If I lived in a small town, I think that I would not have this kind of chance in my life. From my point of view, in this century communication with other people became very important aspect of life. If you want to be successful in your cereer you have to have a lot of acquaintanceships. So in a big city there is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and gain friends. That is why living in a big city is also a great experience. Lust but not least, the entertainment in a big city is very interesting. There are various kinf of amusing centers where you can relieve your strength and energy after the hard work. For teenagers there are lot of night clubs, movie theatres, theatres, museums, cafes and so on. In addition, in many cases concerts by famous musicians and cultural festivals are held in a big city. To sum up everything I’d like to say that I love small town only for two weeks. From my point of view going there is a best way to relax from a busy and sometimes tiring life of a big city. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should encourage their students to question everything. It is important to get the answer of the questions, so there would be no room for any doubt. I believe that mentors have to encourage their students to ask the question because it is the key for getting success to the students as well as the teachers. The main role of our teachers in our society is to educate, but giving knowledge is not enough because as the societies changing rapidly, people are also moving at the same pace. In addition, their views and opinions are also changing with the time. Some of students usually scare of asking question from their instructor, in this case teachers should be allowed to encourage students to ask everything. It is significant for teachers to understand issues related to the different students in a distinct way, so that they can motivate their students with the suitable technique. Teachers should ask themselves that why don’t students ask their quires? What makes them stop? How they can be motivated to clarify their question? All these questions would be able mentors to find the best methodology to inspire students to question, and this will shed the light on the dark area. Moreover, teachers would be satisfied by their own performance, they can lead the societies, and they can also bring good change in the society. The role of the mentor is not only restricted to only schools, colleges, and universities, but also they have to counsel everyone who needs their help. In this way, societies bring tremendous change, and lead the nation towards success. Therefore, teachers need to motivate their students to ask every concept, which they didn’t understand. The main motive of the teachers is to bring light over the dark side, which is unquestionable, and misinterpreted.
  8. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A university education should be provided free of charge to all interested scholars A famous proverb “Knowledge is power” has demonstrated the value of education. I believe that universities should provide free of cost education to the interested scholars because now-a-days universities with good name charge high fees and this leads one to think about affordability. I have observed that many of the interested scholars failed to get the admission in good universities because they have to think about work along with the studies, and this left them with only one choice, which is work. University is more likely to become a money making business, the issue of affordability has become crucial to the students. In today’s world education is getting expensive, and people are tending to apply for self-finance education in order to get the admission. Whereas, the scholars are facing a lot of difficulties apart from their high requirements of previous education, they has a lot to face the other difficulties and burden while getting admission such as accommodation, food, traveling, clothing, etc. Moreover, it is hard to get manage two things at a time for instance, working and studying is not an easy job for the scholars, they need to concentrate on their studies. M.Phils. and PhDs scholars are probably engage in the research work, which takes their full concentration and surveys. The idea of free of charge education inspires those scholars who really want to put their efforts and get a degree from best universities. Therefore, universities have to look over the issues face by most of the scholars; their message should be spread education, not making money, and motivate those scholars who want to get education. Their notion should be inspirational in such a way which makes our society educative and increase our literacy rate.
  9. Learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present. Do you agree or disagree? There has always been some sort of curiosity among the human beings about past times. a lot of endeavors have been made in order to reveal the secrets of past times. But what is the reason of this curiosity? Why people are always wondering about their ancients? why all of us like listening to our grandparents stories about past times? What is it in past times that makes it such alluring for human beings? there are different opinions covering this issue. I would like to put them in the following way. First, some people acclaim that there are many lessons in the lifestyle of our ancestors. There is a proverb in my language which supports this idea; “The history is the teacher of human beings”. In this idea the reason of searching past times is that people hope to find out the secrets of that time and consequently, learn lessons from them. Furthermore, they believe that there are numerous similarities in our life and the people of past times. We are facing a lot of situations which these people had experimented them before. Accordingly with finding out these similarities we are able to improve our way of living. This group acclaim that the linking between us and past time is very powerful and we cannot neglect it. On the other hand, some may assert that the conditions of our time is different from the past, hence everything would have a different style for us. In the other words, it is not beneficial to learn about the past. This group of people believes that the reason of curiosity about past times is the desire of human beings about knowing stuffs that have been discovered from them. Since the life style of people, the food, the clothes and everything about past times are not clear to people of our time, they try to figure out how would have these things been like in the past. As a result, according to the idea of this group of people learning about past is just wasting the time. Finally, I assert that there is no harm in learning new things, and every single thing that you learn could help you in some way. Thus, taking into account all aforementioned factors, I believe that learning about past could be beneficial for us. It would help us in different situations of our life. In addition,
  10. TOPIC 157 IN THE FUTURE ,STUDENTS MAY HAVE THE CHOICE OF STUDYING AT HOME BY USING TECHNOLOGY SUCH AS COMPUTERS OR TELEVISION OR OF STUDYING AT TRADITIONALS SCHOOLS.WHICH DO YOU PREFER?USE REASONS AND SPECIFIC DETAILS TO EXPLAIN YOUR CHOICE Education has become on of the most important issues in nowadays society .Being an educated and versatile humanbeing assures a great career as well as a continuous developement of peronal skills and features.Because the 21st century has led to the progress process and to an overcrowded era of technology advancement ,the choice of studying by using technology such as television, computers, internet and other different softwares or of studying at traditionals schools may be a debated theme in nowadays society;however,to me,the ideea of gaining information is more connected with the concept studying in a school for several reasons. 12. Hello, guys.Nice to meet you. Im actually new here and really need your opinions and suggestions on my TOEFL essay. Please DO correct me or suggest any better ideas to add on to the essay to make it better. Thanks a million for the help. :) Yes, I agree that parents are the best teachers for us. The reason behind is basically because it is a general knowledge to know that parents are the first teachers in any individual’s life. They were the ones who provide us all of the basic knowledge and assist us in our development in life, academically, spiritually and physically. Children can be imagined/described as a piece of pure-white sheet of cloth and it is the parents who are responsible to color it and shape it into something that will contribute to both, the parents, and also to the “real world” that they will live in. Besides that, there is also a reason in terms of culture. For example, as for me, I have a Malay-Kelantanese background. There are no other teacher who can give a better example and become model for me than my parents, who are both from a Malay-Kelantanese background, to teach me about the Kelantanese dialect, customs and other things from A to Z. By them doing this, our culture are preserved and protected from extinction as they have passed it down to the younger generations. Next, is in terms of religion. From them, we would be able to learn all of the basics of the religion we are align to . Thus, by having the basics from an early age, they would be able to top up their knowledge on religion throughout their lives and have unwavering faith. But wait, “not all parents have high knowledge concerning the religion” you say? Yes, that is true that not all parents are excellent scholars in religion. However, sometimes, those kind of parents will then send their children to religion classes to learn religion from the religion scholars. It is up to their decision on whether to send the child to those classes or not. And it is also up to the parents to push the children to know their religion and love it as a part of them as, for me, if there is no religion in your vocabulary of life, then your life is as if a hollow, lifeless and useless life that has no purpose and sense of direction. The conclusion is, parents are definitely the best teachers that you will encounter in your life. It is true that you will learn more things from other people for example, your teachers, lecturers and others, but, it is the parents who made it all possible for you to learn and have the life you are in now.
