  1. Hello, dear friends, Please give me your feedback about my independent essay. The topic is: Movies are popular all over the world. Explain why movies are so popular. Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer. Entertainment, which is the art of making the time more interesting and painfulness, has been one of the most important activities in cultures. In early times, it was achieved in many different ways: the joker in big kingdoms, the Olympic games in Greek culture, and the celebrations and parties in Rome empire. Nowadays, entertainment has evolved into movies, submerging people’s life into different histories, roles, and dramas, contributing to forget people’s problems and sufferings. In my opinion, movies have become too popular due to the easiness of access and the wide range of topics covered. Firstly, Movies are in any single place of the world, from homes to nearly any place on earth. The easiness of watching movies is a result of today’s technologies achievements. Novel smart devices such as mobile phones, tablets, smart tv, and laptops, which are used broadly by a high percentage of the population, allow people to enjoy their preferred movies anywhere and almost at any time. Additionally, there are many movie’s categories, like romantic, drama, scare, kids, documentary, and others, that satisfy a huge number of people preferences. Moreover, the searching mechanism has been improved by new multimedia platforms like Netflix, Amazon Movies, Youtube, and so on, allowing the movie’s lovers to find out what they want. To summarize, movies have become very popular as a result of the easy access and the broad range of topics covered, giving satisfaction to a high percentage of the demand.
  2. Please Grade my below essay, it's an independent task for Toefl. Topic: People benefit from traveling in their own country than from traveling to the foreign country. I agree that traveling in the own country as well as the foreign country benefit people in various ways. traveling in the own country used to know in depth about own country different flavors. Foreign country traveling used to know about a different culture and lifestyle. Traveling in its own country is advantageous in many terms first it's very cheap to travel in the same country. we can easily communicate with local people so it's easy to bargain. this gives a deep knowledge about our own culture, lifestyle, and food. In our own country, it's easy to visit a place more than once because it's cheap and easily accessible. visiting a place more than once enable us to experience the same thing with the different point of views and angles. More information shall enable us to share it with others which will result into increased tourism in our country, this will affect our economy and finally, it will be used as the welfare of our country people. Traveling in a foreign country is helpful for getting worldwide knowledge. this introduces us to know about different culture, lifestyle, and their local food taste. we meet different type of peoples, mostly we come across communication problem but at the same time we communicate with those local people in terms gesture, different sound words. so it enable us to express ourselves in more creative ways. Now the day's lots of information is present on the internet, we can browse for foreign location on the internet too, but experiencing it physically is a unique and mindblowing experience which can't be experienced through looking in the pictures on the internet. so overall traveling has lots of advantage in terms of knowledge, experience the beauty of different places and economical benefits.
  3. Please check my response and let me know where i can do improvement. In the lecture, the narrator suggests that reducing workload from 5 days to 4 days won't affect the economy, which is contradictory to the reading passage. According to the narrator to hire new Employees needs more money for training, medical benefits, more computers and more office space. which will cut down on company profits and this may cost more money than retaining the same no of employees for 5 days work. Besides, reading states that shortened weekend will increase company profits as their employee feel more rested and relaxed so they will likely to make less error in their work but narrator thinks that company may ask their 4-day employees to work overtime to complete the 5-day work in 4-days. this will make the current job more unpleasant and this won't create additional jobs too. In the end, the reading passage states that 4 days employees will have more free time in exchange for their lower salary this could improve their quality of life by spending more time with family members, pursuing private interests and enjoying leisure activities but narrator says that 4-days employee would risk their job stability and also advancement in their career path because they may lose their jobs in economic downturn . They may also be passed over promotion too because the company will prefer 5-day employee for the management position as they can give more time for consistent supervision.
  4. i'm new to this forum, i have my exam in a week and struggling with the writing section, need an experts advice. vertical_horizon, vaya will you please analyze my essay and take the pain to give me feedback, your feedback is much appreciated [clap]. thank you i promise that will try to help others on this forum with their essay as well. topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Attending a live performance (for example, a play, concert, or sporting event) is more enjoyable than watching the same event on television. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion Personally I disagree with the statement that attending a live performance is more enjoyable than watching the same event for the following reasons First, location is very important factor for me, if I have to travel to a different state altogether I wouldn’t find it encouraging to attend the live concert .For example recently there was a Britney spears concert in London and I live in Coventry west midlands,uk. I chose to watch the concert on TV but my friend bill went to attend the live concert, bill was late to the concert and therefore couldn’t enjoy it really well ,also the temperatures were low ,so bill was down with common cold for next 4 days. While I really enjoyed watching the concert on tv in the warmth of my home. Second ,car parking is a big issue when you attend a live concert there is limited amount of car parking area sometimes and u have to face the music as a result. I usually drive my own car so finding a car-park will be a hassle for me at such events. Jane went to a concert with her friends ,since she couldn’t a car park as she was late for the concert, she parked her car in no park zone and didn’t notice the sign board as she was in a hurry to attend the concert, the end result was a fine of 100$ by the patrolling police. Third, these live concerts charge a lot of money per ticket, and a rocking performance is not always guaranteed as there are always uncertainties like a technical problem, drunken performer, or a show can be canceled at the last minute and this would leave you utterly disappointed. Instead I will watch it for free on television and save the money towards my future degree in fashion designing at the Paris institute of fashion technology in Paris. Moreover, event Management Company contributes a lot towards the success of the concert and this would result in ultimate satisfaction for the audience who attend the live show for example Cindy went to the Amy wine house concert. The ticket included food and drinks. Due to inefficient management by the organizer, the food wasn’t sufficient for all. Cindy fumed at this but could do nothing except for spending extra on the food as she was so hungry, so I would definitely avoid such a situation. In addition, hygiene matters the most for me when I go out with my family and friends. Whether it is a restaurant, park or for a holiday. At a live performance there will be very big crowd especially if its by a noted artist such as Jenifer Lopez, Britney spears etc , big crowd means lots of bacteria and the risk of contracting viral infections. Added to this if the concert is in open auditorium and the temperatures fall suddenly you’ll have to face the music and end up spending the next couple of days in the bed suffering with cold and fever. In conclusion, for the above explained reasons and details I would watch a concert on tv rather than attend the concert, as this would save my energy, health and money.
  5. Q. YOU ARE PLANNING TO STUDY ABROAD. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE? WHY? USE SPECIFIC REASONS AND DETAILS TO SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER. To Study abroad has always been a dream for me. I always wanted to go to the United States of America to do my graduation. There are many things that are to be taken into consideration before going abroad. There may be many things that I would like and some I would dislike. The things I would like will be, first the advance research they do in the universities over there. US has very large amount of funds to carry out research and many universities have there own research facilities and they were carrying on many research projects, so by going there I would get a opportunity to join the team in research and I really like to do that. Second thing would be. Second thing would be the cleanliness and pollution free environment in my current country of residency people tend throw garbage on the road and litter everywhere, if I go to America there the roads will be clean and pollution free and I would like it that way. Third as America has a very open culture, people from various countries and cultures would come there, and I really like to interact with people from different backgrounds, so it would present that opportunity and I will be able know about a lot of different cultures. There may be few things that I may dislike over there. First I would be away from my family and friends and I will miss them a lot, as the distance is very huge I can’t meet them very often and I would really dislike this. Second the food and food habits in America is completely different from my country, so would miss the food and moreover I am very poor at cooking. Third people over there are very much immersed in their own work and in there own world and many relationships are maintained for formality sake, where as in my country people are very close and very straight forward, So I will dislike this. Stating my above reasons of liking some and disliking few things. In life will always have to adjust to many things. So even there are few things that I will dislike about the place, I can sacrifice them for the sake of better future.
  6. This is my essay: 2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Parents give us life and we love them. But honestly not all of parents are the best teachers, or they can't be the best teachers in all fields, because the criteria of being the best teacher include being the great role model and having some professional knowledge. Let's admit that parents are not perfect human being. Some of their unperfected character could affect their children's future in negative way. Take my parents as an example, both of them have very bad temper and sometimes they hit me if they see I do something they don't like. I know they are trying to educate me, but I also know they do not fully understand my feeling. They could use very skillful way, which might be much more efficient, to talk me out of problem, but they choose not to. So sadly it is very hard for me to consider them as my best teachers. I love them, but not see them as my great guiders for life. In addition, some parents can't be the best teachers to children in certain area, because they aren't experts in the field which their children work on or haven't received higher education. For example, suppose a child wants to be an architect, but both his/her parents are mathematicians in their whole life. Then the kids have to learn most of expertise from professional school teachers or other experts. This time their parents might be the good supporters but far from being the best teachers. Of course, there are a few parents doing well for being the best teachers. They had been the good life models and had full of experience in educating their children and in their careers. They could help their children become more successful than they did. Like Donald Trump's father Fred Trump did. Fred had been a successful architect in America, and educated Donald well; consequently contributed to Trump's successful career in all over the world. In conclusion, not all parents have already become the best teachers naturally. Some flaws of their character and the education background obstruct them to be the great teachers. However, there are a few parents lucky to be the best tutors of their children, since they have perfectly suitable knowledge for educating their kids. But, no matter what kinds of person our parents are, they all work very hard and we all love them. Word: about 396 Time: 45' :)
