Hello, I am interested in Masters in Economics programs that are good preparatory platforms for pursuing a PhD later. I will apply for admission in Fall 2017. I plan to pursue a PhD immediately after my Masters. My profile details are as follows: Undergraduate Degree: BS in Finance and Mathematics Undergraduate College: NYU Stern Undergraduate GPA: Overall - 3.83, Math - 3.95, Finance - 3.75 (graduated Summa Cum Laude) Postgraduate Degree: MBA Postgraduate School: Top 3 B-school in India (IIM A/B/C) Postgraduate GPA: 6.92/9 Math Courses: Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Introduction to Math Modeling, Ordinary Differential Equations, Analysis I, Algebra I, Discrete Mathematics (have A's in all except one) Economics Courses - Undergraduate: Microeconomics, Economics of Global Business (A's in both) Economics Courses - Postgraduate: Econometrics, Micro and Macroeconomics, Economic History of India (A's in all, B in Econometrics) Research Experience: Undergraduate Honors Thesis Program (A grade obtained) Research Interests: Macroeconomics - Monetary & Fiscal Policy, International Trade Letters of recommendations: I intend to work as a Research Assistant for my MBA school economics and finance professors. GRE: Plan to take it next year; GMAT (know it's pointless but yet posting it in case there are programs accepting it): 750 Target Schools: Oxford/Cambridge MPhil, LSE Msc Economics, UBC MA, UofT MA Doctoral Stream, Duke MA, Tufts MA, Boston MA, Columbia MA (please tell me if I missed any other top program) Do I have a realistic shot for the above programs?
