I have been admitted at the following unis: U Illinois UC U Arizona U New Mexico I also have really good chances with Colorado Boulder and Wyoming. I want to go into environmental and development economics. UIUC is definitely the best ranked uni in economics and it has a pretty good placement, while all the others are much more specialized in environmental and development econ, but seem to not fare just as well with placement (except Colorado). I'm thinking probably UIUC would give me the best chance to actually teach at any of those unis after the PhD and that a higher ranked uni is better in general for reputation, but on the other side those other unis do have a strong emphasis on the branches I like the most. Which one should I accept? Thanks to anyone willing to help! :)

I've just applied to these programs: 1. MSPE University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 2. MSc in Economics - University of Warwick. 3. MSc in Public Policy and Administration - London School of Economics. 4. APE - Paris School of Economics.

I am lucky enough to be accepted to both programs. However, I am confused as to which one I should choose. I am going to visit both departments in the near future. However, I would really appreciate if you or your friends could who go to one of these schools can give me some insights into each respective department. I know that rank-wise, UIUC is higher. However, ND's close tie between students and faculty members intrigued me as well.

Hello I've been admitted to UIUC and Vanderbilt for graduate school. I will study economics. I am from Albania. I will go with my spouse and kid. I know the climate is warmer in Nashville, but the life is cheaper in Urbana-Champaign. Does the weather in Urbana-Champaign negatively affect our lives? I would like to know which school is better for my family. I am really stuck, can anybody help me? Thanks all!

Hello Guys I am putting this out there for those who are applying for Ag and Resources Economics programs for the fall of 2012. Is anyone applying at ACE UIUC? I am considering applying but do not know a lot about the school. A little about me: Undergrad BA Marketing Grad MBA Finance Grad: Ms In Resources Economics My research interest is in food safety nutrition and health economics. ACE has a couple of people who do excel in that field and thought it will be great to work with them. I am also considering MSU and Purdue are there any other schools out there that you guys think i might consider? Financial assistance will be the main decision factor

I applied for UIUC's online MCS program back in December for Summer 2011 admission. I was just wondering if anyone else had applied and heard back yet or if anyone knows how long they usually take to communicate decisions? Their website estimates April 15th, but I'm hoping it could be sooner than that!

I'm a Senior Undergraduate of Electrical Engineering ( Power) at IIT Delhi. Academic profile is as follows : 1. G.P.A. - 7.745/10 ; 4th in the class of 21 2. Summer Internship at Suzlon Energy Ltd, Pune. 3. At Suzlon, I worked on "Control of Doubly-fed Induction Generators" 4. I did a course project with a faculty in my campus on " Wind power generation by Doubly-Fed Induction Generators" 5. I'm working for a local Systron Microsystems Ltd. for " High power factor and Low-cost CFL's" . Design of circuit and then testing after fabrication. 6. My B.Tech project : Different sensor/sensorless controls of SRM drives. ( Matlab/Simulink Study). Hardware implementation. 7. Small projects in Digital Electronics and Analog circuits. GRE score : 1310 (780+530) What are my chances at these universities for MS? These universities have reputed departments in Power and Energy Systems. UIUC usually provides RA's to the students selected. I need to support myself on my own. So what are funding possiblities? Will on-campus job along with RA cover my total expenses? But, more importantly, Do I stand a chance at these universities??
