I got admits in Universitat des Saarlandes for a master's in CS, Uni-Potsdam for a master's in Cognitive System and Uni-Stuttgart for a master's in CS. Which should I attend, depending on its education and career aspects? 1- Universitat des Saarlandes (Computer Science) 2- University of Stuttgart (Computer Science) 3- University of Potsdam (Cognitive Systems) Which one to attend for winter 2015/16 intake? Need your suggestion! Thanks :)

So I have an average profile in terms of GPA / projects taken but have a work ex of 1.5 years (working with an industry leader in WiFi security). Here's a brief profile #1.My Basic Profile : BE Pune University, India Average : 69% (distinction) GRE Score : 325 (Quant 167, Verbal 158. AWA : 3.5) TOEFL : 101 Working with : AirTight Networks (Wireless networks, intrusion prevention systems etc. ) As : Developer in the Front end team since July 2011. Work experience: UX, UI development and wireless networking. Projects: Final Year : SCSI domain Mini projects : Android, C++etc Extra curricular (Been very active in this): Done loads of graphic designing. Managed events. Attended workshops on Design & Innovation, UX etc. General Secretary of college council in the final year. Recos :1. Team Director(PhD) Will highlight my work at work place. 2.Project guide in college (She is pursuing her PhD) : She taught me subjects related to Embedded systems, Microprocessor and Microcontrollers (I have also scored well in these subjects). 3. Former HOD : He will support my extra curricular and co-curricular activities + workshops and events that I conducted But : No papers published , No research work done yet :| I want to apply for MS in Computer Science. Interests : HCI, Web, Artificial intelligence, mobile computing Not very much into: Computer architecture, compilers I am working on a strong SoP. Could you evaluate my chances in some top schools like : UCLA, GaTech, CMU, UT Austin, UIUC, UMich, UPenn, UCSB etc. ? Where do I have comparatively better odds amongst the list? Thanks in advance !

Hi, May I start by saying that, this site has been a continuous source of inspiration for me and helped to shape my decision in pursuing higher studies in US. I want thank all of the people involved with this forum for that. I would request the members to kindly review my following profile and suggest a few universities where I can most probably get full funding. My GRE score is, Q-156, V-153, AWA-3.5, M.S in Computer Science CGPA is 3.90/4 and B.S 2.99/4 , I have 2 publications in IEEE conferences (ICMLC'11, ICITA'11). I will sit for the TOEFL score next month. I have 4 years experience in the field of software development and I've also worked as a TA during my MS study. I have sent my GRE score to the following universities for PhD in computer science. 1. CMU 2. MSU 3. City College CUNY 4. SUNY Stony Brook Please comment about my selections. I’m targeting Spring’13. Presented more than 10 projects in various competitions. Awarded BEST in COMPUTER for two years in high school and BEST in ACADEMICS for six consecutive years(college+highschool) . I have offer from both SOAS and Sussex for the Development Studies programme. Have to make a choice soon.. pls advise My background: I am a post-graduate in Sociology from University of Delhi and have worked with NGOs and the UN for 6 years now. I want to continue working in the development sector at a senior programmatic level. I'm a Senior Undergraduate of Electrical Engineering ( Power) at IIT Delhi. Academic profile is as follows : 1. G.P.A. - 7.745/10 ; 4th in the class of 21 2. Summer Internship at Suzlon Energy Ltd, Pune. 3. At Suzlon, I worked on "Control of Doubly-fed Induction Generators" 4. I did a course project with a faculty in my campus on " Wind power generation by Doubly-Fed Induction Generators" 5. I'm working for a local Systron Microsystems Ltd. for " High power factor and Low-cost CFL's" . Design of circuit and then testing after fabrication. 6. My B.Tech project : Different sensor/sensorless controls of SRM drives. ( Matlab/Simulink Study). Hardware implementation. 7. Small projects in Digital Electronics and Analog circuits. GRE score : 1310 (780+530) What are my chances at these universities for MS? These universities have reputed departments in Power and Energy Systems. UIUC usually provides RA's to the students selected. I need to support myself on my own. So what are funding possiblities? Will on-campus job along with RA cover my total expenses? But, more importantly, Do I stand a chance at these universities??

Hi,I am Tapas who finished my Bachelor of Science and Engg Degree from ST. Petersburg STate Polytechnical University,Russia[the 2nd best Technical university in Russian Federation]on a government scholarship.I want to pursue my MS leading to PhD and seek some advise from you.In Russian 3,4 and 5 system I have 4s in 14 subjects,5s in 11 subjects and 3s in 8 subjects[out of 33 subjects].Can you please tell me if I have also IELTS 7 and GRE score 1300+,and 1.6 year job experience in programming where is the best possibility of my getting accepted for admission with some kind of funding?I mean in Ranking where I can apply say to 1-20/20-50 universities like that..Because to choose varsity according to your criteria is the most difficult taskAnd how will be my CGPA or how to convert this Russian 5 grade system to US 4 scale system to have an idea where to apply?
