Any help will be appreciated. Waiting for your response. Thanks to all of you!

Hello everyone! I am currently live in USA. I am a pharmacist graduated in Romania and would like to find other people that are or were in my situation. I am trying to get my papers from the university ready to submit them to ECE. It is not that easy to get the documents the way USA is asking because the public services in my home country are bad and would like you know how other people hand this issue. Thank you very much and hope everyone is having a great day !

  10. Hi, I am looking for a ranking of European MSc Economics programmes and their success of placing students to top USA PhD programmes. Can anyone help?
  11. am i correct to observe a us/non us phd divide in business academia? if u attend an aussie school, u have a decent chance of placing in non us regions (aus/europe/hk/etc) but your chances of placing in the usa is very low and difficult. in academia, there seems to be a border between us and non us schools with very tough visa rules.:crushed:
  12. Hi! My name is Dung Le and I’m from Vietnam. I have a desire to pursue a PhD in economics in a top-20 graduate school in the USA, but I feel that, with a background of undergraduate in Vietnam and having no master degree, my dream will not come true. So I’m thinking of taking a master degree in Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) or Paris School in Economics (PSE) as an intermediate step. I have two LoRs, one from a professor at PSE and the other from a professor at TSE, so it is very likely that I will be accepted for admission from TSE and PSE. Please help me with my questions! I heard from one of my friends that TSE and PSE are respected for their theoretical and mathematics-focused teaching style and curriculums. Is this insight correct? Is master degree from TSE or PSE highly recognized in top graduate school in the USA (Chicago, MIT, Stanford, …)? If I study well (top 5 in class) in the Master program from TSE or PSE, is it possible for me to be admitted to top PhD in economics in the USA? Between PSE and TSE, which one is best suited for me if my goal is to be admitted in top PhD in economics in the USA? Below are master programs in these two schools. Public Policy and Development – PSE PPD - Public Policy and Development - Paris School of Economics Analysis and Policy in Economics - PSE APE - Analysis and Policy in Economics - Paris School of Economics Master 1 in Economics (international track) – TSE Master 1 in economics (international track) | TSE Master 1 in Econometrics and Statistics (international track) - TSE Master 1 Econometrics and Statistics (international track) | TSE In Master 1 Econometrics and Statistics (international track), I see that there are apparently two options in which the first one is Decisions Mathematics Path and the second one is Statistics and Applied Econometrics Path. You can find the curriculums of these two paths at Master 1 Econometrics and Statistics (international track) | TSE . Please elaborate on the differences, and pros and cons between these two paths. Thank you so much for your help!
  13. Which one should I go to guys (Aussie Chinese from Melbourne background)? I should have applied to USA but I didnt realise the preference for USA grads.... 16. Hi, I have this concern. I am 30 and studied in a unknown university in developing country. I want to apply for a masters (MBA, MPP, MPA) in USA. I have a good GPA, high GRE (I even take the GMAT and scored high), high TOEFL, nice letters, work experience, but the only problem I have is the age. Adcoms use to consider this? Is it really important for a masters? Please, I am really worried about this because I don't want to feel I just lost my once-in-a-lifetime chance. Thanks!
  17. Hey Guys, I have graduated from "Industrial Engineering" department from Turkey with 3.65/4.00 GPA, 3rd rank in 120 people class, in 2009. I had a thesis about "Supply Chain Performance Measurement and Management" which is pure research paper. Then I have just got an MBA degree again in Turkey with 4.00/4.00. This program was part-time MBA and it does not have thesis requirement. However, I wrote four three research paper for different classes (organizational behavior, corporate governance, foreign policy...), as well as prepared various projects (strategy management, valuation, merge and acquisition...). I have been working since 2009 in purchasing department in multinational FMCG company. My main goal is to make an commercial agreements with suppliers to gain savings. However, I have been dreaming to attend PHD in Business since I have graduated from undergrad. And I decided to pursue my ambition which is to get an acceptance from one of the top 100 schools in the U.S. I have just started to work on GRE. (I found GMAT too tricky and my qualitative background is much better than verbal) All in all, I have two main questions to you. 1- Since I don't have academic research experience,(which is definetly my improvement area) how can I get this experience while working full time? What is you recommendation? 2- I got two economics classes during mba and I have discovered my deep interest in economics. However, I haven't worked as an economist. I cannot decide which area is much more suitable for me. "Business Economics" which I found very much interesting and impressed by the quantitative analysis behind this, OR "Operational Management or Supply Chain" which is more relevant to my background and to my current fulltime job. (also I am not so 100% happy with this area due to economics topis are more attractive for me) What is your recommendation? Do you know any other study area that I can combine – may be - both of them? Thank you so much! by the way I am 29, and I am planning to apply programs in 2016 =) I hope I am not that much old ;)
  18. Hi, my daughter has got a conditional offer from Warwick for International management but have been told that this course is not so good at warwick, it's much better known for Economics. But her board exams didn't go so well ( am from India ) so she might not get Economics if I change now because the % required is much higher. Any views how does the International Management course compare to Economics i.e faculty, course, future potential etc. Second dilemma Bath, Durham or Warwick. At Bath I have Business adminstration and Economics at Durham Last dilemma USA or UK , how do the two education systems compare i.e campus experience, future potential, way of teaching, etc Lots of question so would appreciate whatever help / inputs one can give. In USA the options she have are Scripps or Bryn Mawr or Brandeis. If you dont have much time answer whatever you have some solid views on. Thanks in advance .. Confused father :-)

  23. Hey everybody, I am thinking about applying to the master program in finance at BGSE. I have an undergraduate degree in Math, and will have a masters degree in Economics in July.(two years masters degree in a European country) The university where I did my masters is one of the best in my country but not well known in Europe, but my profesors all graduated from USA. I still have the feeling that I am not ready for Phd in the Usa. I have a good mathematical background, also programming skills. My courses in the master program: micro, macro, econometrics, time series, international trade theory and politics, International Monetary Theory And Policies, Growth Theory, Development Economics and my thesis subject is about USA. I am interested in macro, econometrics, development, growth, financial economics. Since I will have a degree in economics, I will apply to the finance program. But I still want to take some courses from economics program. How many courses can I take in one semester at BGSE? I am planning to take 4-5 courses per semester. Besides the core finance courses, I want to take macro or econometrics or growth courses. Do you guys think it is manageble to take 4 or 5 courses in a semester? My other question is about applying to Phd programs in the USA. Most of the programs have deadlines in December. So can I take letter of recommendation in December, in three months? I will be 25 years old when I finish the program and I do not want to wait for a year! Have you guys heard anyone who succeded to get an admission after there months at BGSE? It seems that I would even not get the results of the exams in December. The other problem is that there is almost no time to apply the Phd programs whose deadlines are in January. I have the felling that my profile is not enough for a top-30 school. By the wayI can get good lor at any time from my profs now. I may do like this: I may begin the BGSE (if I am accepted!), use its reputation and lors of my profs now. I do not waht to do! I am looking forward your comments. Thanks
