gangaran Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 The desire of corporations to maximize profits creates conflict with the general welfare of the nation at large; I strongly agree with the above statement, the present day corporations are working more and more towards increasing their profits at the expense of the welfare of the nation. Take for instance the environmental effects, that many big corporations are neglecting this issue with the only aim of increasing their profits margins. I, add the delocalisation’s as the other factor of the corporations trying to find people with minimum wages so that they can gain maximum profits leaving their mother nation aside. The taxes paid by big corporations in the country of their origin is very less when compared with the small and medium scaled companies, there by neglecting the nations interests. I can give a perfect example of the Total Corporation a big oil company; they pay fewer taxes in France when compared to other small and medium scale companies. These are some of the reasons which make me think that the desire of corporations to maximise profits creates conflict with the general welfare of the nation at large. this is my first essay after so so long time friends help me to correct and your advises will be appreciated.
