Sugu
Hi guys, Could any1 tell me what are the chances to get into a decent university with a GMAT score 550 :upset: but i managed to get 5.0 in AWA. Please post your suggestions. I'm very confused whether to take the test again or not.
choked
Define "decent university." Something to note...some idiot got into Harvard with a 490 gmat last year. You scored higher than that person/moron. But anyway, yes, you should retake the gmat. Unless the rest of your application is super strong, a 550 will hurt you. Certainly, high scores do not really help students matriculate to top schools, but low scores certainly cast doubt upon an applicant's MBA aptitude. Raise your score to a level within the range of your target school. Then focus on the rest of your application.
Chris Knight
What you need to do is look at the 80% range of your school. Ideally your score is in at least the middle of that range. Depending on your background you may want it higher.
Javoni
Hey buddy, sorry to say that not that much. Unfortunately, for the GMAT AWA score does not play any reasonable role, what a pity! with 550, it is tough to get to a top-notch school
