The probability of rain on each of the next three days is 30% assuming that rain on one of the days does not make rain on another day more or less probable.

 

1. The outcome of interest is whether it rains on each pf the next three days. List the complete sample space of outcomes and calculate the probability of each of the outcomes.

 

2. Let X be the number of days it rains in the next three days. Fond the probability distribution of X.

As opposed to writing out the work, here is a short guide on how to work through these:

 

the probability that it won't rain is 30% based on the given information. So, simply list the 8 different outcomes and multiply the probabilities to see the likelihood that each will occur:

 

One day if rain is

 

.7*.7*.3

.7*.3*.7

.3*.7*..7
