I am an international student who has been admitted to a phd program of an American business school. The financial package includes a tuition waiver and a salary of 20,000 working as a research assistant. I would like to know more about the US taxation system regarding scholarships and fellowships for international students. Do I have to pay taxes on my research assistantship?
