aliafs
I am in the process of looking for prospective Masters program and I am highly interested in the study of Mathematics and Computer science. I heard about this program "Masters in Computational Mathematics" which is a mix of both computer science and applied maths but I want to know how useful this degree is when it comes to finding jobs in the industry. I have a bachelors in Economics and Finance and quite frankly I don't want to do an MBA in Finance. One is that i am not enjoying the general work of a financial analyst and also I am seeing a deviation of job roles from just knowing finance or economic theory to a hybrid where a person's ability to use computation or programming with some knowledge of theory is considered more valuable. I was initially interested in doing my masters in applied mathematics but talked to a few people in the industry who suggested that the return of my time and money in just applied Maths will not be that great. Can I please get some advice on that and also how to compare programs from different universities that would fit best my criteria. Thanks
