I’m currently a Master’s student in my first semester. PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: Top Public University in US, Econ Major, Math Minor Undergrad GPA: 3.80/4.00 (3.91 Econ, 3.53 Math) Type of Grad: Top MA in US Grad GPA: GRE: Q 170, V 161, AWA 3.5 Math Courses: Calc III (B+), Lin. Alg (A), Intro Probability (A), Advanced Calculus (B+), Diff Eq (B) Econ Courses: Intro Micro, Intro Macro, Intermediate Micro, Intermediate Macro, Game Theory, Intermediate Econometrics I and II, International Trade Theory, Law and Econ, Behavior Economics, Seminar - All A’s except A- in Intro Macro, Intermediate Macro, and Law and Econ MA Micro, MA Macro, MA Metrics - no grades yet Other Courses: Letters of Recommendation: Not sure yet. Research Experience: Undergraduate Honors Thesis, graduated with high honors RA for a professor at the Master’s institution Teaching Experience: Research Interests: Applied Micro SOP: Concerns: Low Math grades, Low AWA Planning on taking Master’s level courses on Game Theory and Labor etc next semester. Also, will be taking Ph.D level Micro and Econometrics next fall. I will probably continue that RAship in the summer and hope to find an independent research. eatorange Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 If you don't do well on Math, especially in real analysis, then top 15 would not be easy. Assuming Advanced Calculus is real analysis (In my college it was), can you retake it during in your masters program? Also, since you have B on diff eq, consider taking upper-level diff eq and get A from that class. (ex.
