capucapu1
Is there anyone who can check the results from Columbia? There are already 2 results... via phone and via e-mail...
CyTwombly
The Columbia results seem kind of sketchy. It seems odd that there would be one result via email and one via phone so close to each other. It also appears that they haven't given results over the phone in the past
TheEconGuy10
Duke's few decisions from yesterday also seemed a bit sketchy imo
econliker
I discount any acceptance on GradCafe that doesn't provide any details, i.e. Duke and Columbia. Especially because there are so few acceptances

stressedcookie
I don’t know about Duke, but the rumor among predocs is that Columbia would admit a very small class this year (
Wahasky
Sooo if all these schools are admitting pretty small cohorts this year does that mean we'll be rewarded for the awful admissions season in 6 years when we hit the job market with less competition/better prospects? eggnogone
Columbia results might in fact be real. I just heard back from their business school today.

But that’s just hearsay, so you may have a better source.

TheEconGuy10
Pretty quiet week so far. Haven't gotten any offer yet, so my anxiety is through the roof again
CyTwombly
I've heard Columbia is reducing their cohort a little bit, but they had many students who were admitted last year and deferred. Consequently, the admitted class will probably be quite small. Edited February 16, 2021 by CyTwombly Clarification of who deferred
anon02139
Sounds reasonable!
Wahasky
Pretty quiet week so far. Haven't gotten any offer yet, so my anxiety is through the roof again  Keep in mind yesterday was a US holiday, lots of schools had off. Lots of time this week for results to come out (and you to get an offer!).

Consequently, the admitted class will probably be quite small. This is exactly what I heard and hence the rumor that the number of admitted students will be very small. I don’t know if any university other than Columbia has had en exceptional number of deferrals and have very few admits

econliker
Can anyone confirm the Princeton results? At first I thought they were fake because they all were calls, but now I think they're legit
hallowedelegy
I can confirm that the Princeton results are legitimate. I didn't want to post earlier because I was afraid that I would be giving people extra anxiety over the remainder of the day since they're doing phone calls. stressedcookie
I am having some major impostor syndrome feelings today. I got an offer from a top 10 (top 5-7?) department a couple of weeks ago and it was a dream come true. Their stronger fields happen to match the fields I’m interested in. However, because I have not heard back from other similarly ranked programs (today seems like IR from Princeton and Columbia), I feel like this was all a fluke. I’m feeling anxious that someone made a mistake and overestimated my profile and I’m not really fit for a top 10 school. Even though I most likely wouldn’t accept other offers over the one I already have, I still find myself craving some sort of validation. Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent a little 😣
