I did not receive reject e-mail last week, but there have been no updates since then. I remember Berkeley giving out rejection e-mails on mid-Jan, too. Not sure but last year it seemed they had a large acceptance round, exactly around now, and then some people posted interviews in the days after that. If I understood well, he said that the first batch of acceptances has already been 100% sent. Then, they will interview applicants in late Feb/early March to select the second batch of acceptances. Their dual application process fails if they waitlist us without ever forwarding our applications to the second preference departments.
