I (waitlisted) sent a mail to the program and got a reply. As you said, some offers have been made already. However, according to the program, there is not much movement to make additional offers so far. The visit day is on April 7. Maybe things will be clearer after that day.

So I just learned that UCLA had been sending out offers since mid-March and already scheduled a visit day for next week. I assume that not hearing back is an implicit reject.

Did anyone on the Brown waitlist that got invited to this just get rejected off of the waitlist? I did, I guess they didn't want me to get my hopes up at the virtual visit day.

Some more info: they responded to my email and told me that they are still reviewing applications and will be sending out an update next week. My sense is that they are waiting to see how many admits actually accept the offer after visit day this week and are keeping some people on the line in case a large number of their first choices decline.

This seems like the stupidest approach they could take. Why not just use a waitlist like every other program?
