Hi! 

I just wanted to ask if anyone has any information—based on what advisors have said—about how much waitlists are expected to move this year. I'm currently waitlisted at my top choice program, and the they told me that I'm very high on the list. Still, I don’t want to get my hopes up too much or generate false expectations. It's been a really though year.

(1) It has indeed been a very strange year for admissions.

(2) I only know about ONE institution. There there are usually quite a few admissions off the waitlist...this year there will be very few. No idea whether the situation is the same elsewhere.

Thank you! I think it's unlikely that there will updates next week--the cohort size is quite small this year.

Does anyone know the chances of UT Austin’s waitlist moving/if those would be funded offers? They said they’ll plan to inform waitlisted candidates after April 15th, and I have also seen few GradCafe acceptances with funding waitlists. They also never mentioned if the waitlist offers would be funded. Desperate for an answer as this is my only hope!

Don't know if the waitlist will move or not, but I'm nearly certain all UT Austin offers are funded.

I am waitlisted and got a reply (from the program) about an hour ago that they cannot make any waitlist decisions at this time because there are many admitted students who have not made their final decisions yet.

I don’t think so, this is what they said last week: This year more than ever it seems that the waitlist has been very slow and no movement on the list.

Same situation here. I guess market will clear at the end. Some may end up after April 15.
