If you're referring to the amount it's quite transparent on their website: https://www.econ.umd.edu/graduate/financial-support

No info (on gradcafe, and as far as I know no one I know applied there) about whether anyone got funding decision as for now though

@TheAM I know this is the current pay but I think there is a good chance it goes up substantially by the next academic year (hopefully admits would know by April 15) because many programs have been made to greatly raise funding in response to grad student/worker demands. Many BU students just a few years ago would only get a 9-month contract for less than $30K and were on their own for the summer; now all admitted PhD students (across all disciplines, not just Econ) are guaranteed a minimum base pay of $45K over 12 months for the current academic year. From a connection, I also know that another T30 with similarly low PhD pay is planning to greatly raise PhD student pay across the board for AY25-26 to avoid a strike.

This is nice. I heard something about BU since they suspended some PhD programs for this cohort due to this (sadly), but I didn't know the same was going on in other universities.

Has anyone been invited to the Wharton Applied Econ interview?

I might be wrong because I don't know their usual timeline, but I think they might have just started reviewing applications. I am saying this because I emailed them my updated transcript a month ago, and I just got a reply today.

Can’t imagine it’s what anyone is looking for/cares about, but I heard back from Clemson (including funding) 8 days after submitting materials, so back on December 18th

Booth Econ interviews? Any news?

Not yet. Usually they release results in the last week of February.

Nortwestern angry rejection on GC: a troll, am I right? (they say master's, Northwestern does not offer a master in Econ so I'm quite confused)

Can anyone confirm Columbia admissions? I saw one on grad cafe

I haven't gotten anything. It seems REALLY early compared to previous years so I'm quite suspicious...

Having been really stressed throughout January, but

I keep reminding myself that, compared to two years ago, I now have an econ professor from a top U.S. school as my supervisor, have proven I can handle first-year classes, have a pretty cutting-edge independent research project, and possess valuable predoc experience.

Folks, don’t worry - every effort you make will pay off in the end.

Did any of you also receive an email from MIT Econ requesting fall grades to be uploaded? I'm trying to confirm if this is a generic message sent to all applicants.

Yes I received this as well, I think it's generic.

I received it, and so did someone else in my predoc cohort.

but I assume they wouldn't customize names & offer the option of submitting grades over email, if they're sending out hundreds of them?

I’m sure they have some macro set up to automatically put your name in the message (not manually), and people who cannot figure out portals submit stuff over email all the time.
