GREMAT
Hello, guys! GMAT, can you please forward the GMAT sets verbal material to mirbegovic@yahoo.com ?? THANKS!! I`ve been preparing for the GMAT since May, aiming 700. I felt I was doing a good job until I took ETS GMAT Prep 1 and scored 660 (q49, V31). I scored about 700 on most paper tests, and Verbal was 35 at least. I took the real GMAT a year ago and scored 590. The Verbal was 31! This discouraged me a lot, but now I can see that many of you scored 20-50 points lower on GMAT Prep 1 than on the real test. GMAT Prep 1 surprised me with many tough Quant questions, although I have done a ton of practice q`s including OG11. I got Q49 with 14 incorrect answers! Will the real GMAT Q section be as surprising as this GMATPrep`s section? Please tell me, I am lacking self-confidence and that could destroy me on the test in 15 days! Thank you very much!! maverick2k6
A friend was telling me that most of the questions on exam day are from the Official Guide. Does anyone have any idea. Is this true ???

siddharth_r
I am a bit baffled by the scoring logic of PowerPrep and PR Last week I wrote PR-1 and got 720 Q51,V39 ( 5 wrong in Quant and 8 wrong in verbal) Yesterday I wrote PP-1 and got 720 Q50,V36 ( 2 wrong in quant , in verbal 9 incorrect answers) Verbal was quite tough and got a BF in my 7-8th question, which I did correct, still got a score of 36 ?? I thought PP to be same as real GMAT but as per the real GMAT scoring logic, 9 incorrect answers in Verbal must get a score of 40 in verbal :(

awp202
Here were my results: Both Kaplan and Princeton are the 2007 editions. PR 1: 570 PR 2: 590 PR 3: 560 PR 4: 540 Kaplan 1: 560 Kaplan 2: 530 Kaplan 3: 550 Kaplan 4: 540 GMAT Prep 1: 680 GMAT Prep 2: 700 Actual GMAT: 660 86% (Q44 73%,V38 85%) I thought I did well on the test and was expecting around a 700 but I guess I was wrong. I was expecting something like a Q41,V42 split because I didnt have a good feel of my first 10 math questions but I felt pretty good about the verbal part. I guess you really cant predict how you are doing. I felt my Kaplan and Princeton scores were poor because I always ran out of time on them and ended up guessing on the last 5-7 questions of each section (and ended up missing most of them). Time was not as big a factor for me on the GMATPrep tests. It did bother me that most people seemed to do well on the Princeton tests though. Also I did poorly on the Princeton RC sections because their questions and answers are very vague compared to Kaplan and GMATPrep. I might take the test again in 1 month after doing more OG problems. I think I spent too much time practicing Princeton and Kaplan questions, which can be quite different than the real ones. I only did OG questions for SC since that seemed to be my obvious weakness. I wonder if they are going to rescale the GMAT scores since Pearson starting administering the test in 2006. Surely those felt markers and eraser sheets have an effect on the average scores. treyclarkgmat
There is a data set containing practice test scores and actual test scores from 73 users posted earlier in this thread. You should download it and take a look at where you're falling. For Kaplan I did: diag: 720 Cat 1: 630 Cat 2: 590 Cat 3: 660 Cat 4: 640 on the actual I got a
AsadDelhi
A little info about myself.. my name is Asad and I live in Delhi.. I am a 24 year old software engineer. I gave GRE (800Q,560V,4.5) and TOEFL(277/5.5) about 3 years back so I do have a little idea regarding what it takes. I have been preparing for about more than a month now.. Have completed the Barron's guide for GMAT and Kaplan Premier edition. I have given 5 tests in the last five dayz, my scores Kaplan CAT 1 620(Q50,V31) Q28/37 V21/41 Kaplan CAT 2 680(Q48,V38) Q31/37 V30/41 Kaplan CAT 3 620(Q41,V33) Q31/37 V26/41 Kaplan CAT 4 590(Q40,V31) Q31/37 V26/41 GMATPrep 1 700(Q48,V38) Q22/37 V29/41 (Today)

imjimmy
My practise Scores: GMATPrep 1 :770 (q 50, V 46) GMATPrep 2 :770 (q 50, V 46) Kaplan CAT 1 :670 ( Worthless..stopped after one test) MGMAT CAT1(non-adaptive) :730 ( Q 50 V 44) MGMAT CAT1(Adaptive) :740 ( Q 51 V 43) Scores: REAL GMAT: 770(V: 47 ,Q: 50) I think Kaplan is just a waste of time. Their Verbal is pathetic. GMATPrep is the best and you probably would score same on the real thing. MGMAT CAT Quant is very good. MGMAT CAT's Verbal CR and RC are not that great, but the SC is good. In general you can 20-30 pts more on the real thing than you do on the MGMAT CAT.
karlfurt
When you all are reporting your Kaplan scores, you are talking about the Kaplan Cats 2003 or 2006? I did both, and kaplan 2006/2007 cats are scored higher, each +50 points. Knowing that kaplan tests are hard, I think it is important to know which are reported since obviously we cannot compare scores 600 cats 2006.
