McQueenLorD
yeah,i'd also like to have a list of commonly used idioms in lectures..sometimes they give such a question:Listen to a part of the lecture and answer the question - "why did the professor say this?" in many situations, professor uses idioms. the only effective response would be here: Damn it! masoudnbox
Knowing idioms is not a must in case of iBT TOEFL, however, I suppose that anybody with a basic knowledge of English must have a good grasp of the idioms. That is why I recommend you this book: 101 American English Idioms : Understanding and Speaking English Like an American Of course there are lots of other books that you can buy and use them as a self-study source. Good Luck! and be careful! You never know what appears as a question until the time that you are taking the test. which is too late to go back. So be ready in every and each way and put all your worries aside.
