remaining wildness

:proud:Nation should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness area in their natural state, even if these areas could be developed for economic gain.

This issue concerns whether the remaining wildness should be kept. And it proposes a potential value of not keeping them as they can be developed for economic gain. In my opinion, I object this proposal, for three reasons. The first one is that the short-term gain, resulted from the utilization of the wildness, is far less than the long-term gain, which means to keep those wildness. Another reason is that though people consider that by developing these wildness they can benefit a lot in wealth, but they neglect the value they annihilate, which will be explained later on. What is more, wildness is also a facilitation for economy, in a long-term view. Now let us articulate the above factors relatively.

First, the short-term gain, is far less than the long-term gain. Short-term gain of course is the transaction of the wildness and utilize them for estate or agriculture or something that can bring profit in a short term. No doubt this will be helpful to a certain group of people, or even better. But what we cannot neglect is that this would bring irreversible destroy to the environment. Take the example of the pace of a developed country. As a matter of fact, compared to developing countries, developed countries do have much desirable environment, but what they have experienced are the same as do today's developing countries, which are a mass of environment issues. Currently, many developing countries are working out a way to both keep the wildness, as to protect the environment, and keep their economy developing, as they pay more attention on the result of destroy the wildness, as called the kidney of the earth. Why do they do so? It is all about the long-term gain, also as known as a mode of sustainable development. protecting these natural treasures, people are able to enjoy continuously the benefit the wildness offer them, for example, less pollution, sustainable developing potential, and other revenue that come from the retaining of the wildness. Other than short-term gain, which will be diminished with the environment deteriorating and the estate and the agriculture not sustaining, the long-term gain will profit the residents slowly but continuously.

Second, let us take a look at the current benefit the retaining of the wildness can bring to us, instead of the long-term profit. People can hold the wildness for research use and for tourism, which should be carefully kept at a adequate level. Nonetheless, without destroy the environment, people can still harvest a lot from the fruition of research and the profit gained from opening the tourism, as a compensation for preventing the development of estate and agriculture. By researching into the wildness, researchers might com up with better ideas on how to protect the environment efficaciously, thus doing good to the balance the economic development and the protection of the environment. By the introduction of tourism, more people are able to appreciate the splendid wildness and know better the meaning of protect them. This is a way to protect the environment in a deep level.

In addition, protecting the wildness can also be helpful in improving the economic development, as it can make a better environment which may be appealing to much more merchants and investigators than ever before. And the wildness can foster the circulation of the water and keep the climate clement. In this case, companies will have sufficient materials drawn from the nature sensitively, and they are able to sustain their business. Consequently, to protect the wildness is a double win, for the environment and the economy. The problem left for the government is to build up the concept in people's mind that protecting the wildness is a better choice than to utilize them as a mean to help economic development temporarily, as it is a long-term investigation and it leads to a double win situation.

In conclusion, I am in favor of preserving the retaining wildness, for it is a long-term gain rather than developing them for economic purposes as a long-term perspective. Also, it fosters the tourism and the research about the wildness life and biosphere, as an aspect of its current benefit. Another current benefit to the economy as preserving the wildness is that by keeping them the environment is improved and the materials for industrial would be sufficient. The investigation will be introduced and the economy developed as a result.
