ved
Hi, This might sound like a silly query but I thought I will be post it anyway. I come from India and currently in the process of applying to the universities for MS in Computer Science. My recommenders will be providing a paper recommendation to the universities. When I went through the format of the recommendation I realized that it doesn't query the recommender about the credentials. My question is how does the university know about the good stead of the recommender? Example : One of my Professors is a PhD from University of Michigan Ann Arbor but unless she mentions this explicitly this will be unknown to the university. jmat
well, normally the recommender will add his/her title and relationship to you. and it's also your job to tell him/her to do so. at least ask your recommender to put the business card in the envelop with the letter. miketakena
i think its good to mention your relationship with your recommender and briefly mention where he was from. Or , you could squeeze his credentials into the referee section (under title)
