All too often, companies hire outside consultants to suggest ways for the company to operate more efficiently. If companies were to spend more time listening to their own employees, such consultants would be unnecessary.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with these statements and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statements might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

My response: -

There is a trend going in the market among the companies of all the domains ranging from financial services, e-commerce etc. to hire outside consultants to assist them to operate more efficiently. Consultants are necessity in today's working culture. How many times it has been said," If companies were to spent more time listening to their own employees, such consultants would be unnecessary". I disagree with the statement. Many companies might relate and will be in full consent with the statement. But there is difference between action and words. Over the years, there are companies which have made guidelines to create a convivial environment with employees like feedback forms, recreational activities etc but all went in vain when it comes to implementation. There is a dearth from the employees side of things as well as many times they aren't able to articulate their opinions to subordinates or managers. These affect their work life balance which alters their efficiency. Consultants with their expertise and ability to delve into the particular domain is what makes companies hire them. Consultants uses cutting edge and latest tools, and techniques to produce results. Employees might not be acquainted with these tools. The results and expertise that consultants provide can be scrutinized again by employees to improve the efficiency. Consultants are able to extract out the profound emotions, more vivid ideas and articulated opinions from the employees as they know which areas to target. Client employees when working with consultants feels an ease to express his emotions. Employees are cogent and resolute while working with consultants while within their own company, they may act taciturn. Companies only looks to maximize their profits and doesn't delve into the employee satisfaction, work life balance. By hiring consultants, they make sure they are inculcating all the resources including their employees, profit, efficiency into a single place.

Many lives might be saved if inoculations against cow flu were routinely administered to all people in areas where the disease is detected. However, since there is a small possibility that a person will die as a result of the inoculations, we cannot permit inoculations against cow flu to be routinely administered.

Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

My response: -

The amount of the inoculations and the specified limits in what they must be administered to the people should be known. The past implications of the inoculations among different sectors of people might throw some light on the argument.How people's body belonging to different age groups, regions tackle and fight the cow flu. The procedure, tenure of the cow flu affecting the health of the people can help to identify the proportions of inoculations. The availability of monetary funds and resources required for inoculations will be of great help. The argument stating small possibility must have had the past results where the procedure was tested and the inoculations were administered. If have past data and records are available, we can routinely administer inoculations to all people. The amount of inoculations will be commensurated accordingly. The workforce require to administer inoculations can be accordingly supervised. The planning and executing inoculations in a disease prone area will be efficiently done. The lives of many will be saved if the inoculations are done following a protocol. The history and structure of cow flu can be altered by the inoculations to increase the possibility of living. Thus, inoculations against cow flu can be permitted to be routinely administered following and implementing all the limits, history, structure and protocols efficiently.
