boyz
Hi Guys! This sentence was posted in an article in Scientificamerican.com. "By the close of the 20th century, taxonomy had reached a crossroads." Shouldn't the sentence read "By the close of the 20th century, taxonomy had reached a crossroad". I copied that sentence in MS Word and it did not show any error. Can someone explain how it is gramattically correct? Thanks for your help in advance.
yasseramin
actually croassroads is a single entity. i.e the junction of two roads is collectively called croassroads and not crossroad. cheers :)
