Now I don't believe that I have been accepted to study at SUNY AB because my TOEFL score is very bad, under their requirement.... Thanks to TMians.... You have helped me a lot...... Truong SUNY co mien hoc phi cho em khong? RA/TA stipend chi du cung cap tien sinh hoat thoi. Anh tot nghiep DH Kinh Te TPHCM, dang o Los Angeles, thang 5 nay se tot nghiep MBA. fredericchopin Posted April 18, 2005 Share Posted April 18, 2005 PhD ve Business Mgmt rat la kho xin vao tai vi moi truong chi nhan khoang 8-15 sinh vien / nam, chia deu ra cac nganh, thanh ra Finance duoc nhieu nhat la 2-3 nguoi / nam. Mac du cac truong deu ho hao la chi can tot nghiep dai hoc thi co quyen nop don nhung hau het nhung nguoi duoc nhan deu co MSc, MBA, hay dau vai certificates ve finance (first few levels of Actuary, CFA...). Dieu nay khac voi ben Science, tot nghiep dai hoc la duoc nhan ngay vao PhD. Thu tuc nop ho so thi cung nhu binh thuong: GMAT (90% percentile), recommendation letters, essay, transcripts. Ho yeu cau den 3 letters, uu tien la tu thay da giang day minh. PhD student thuong duoc uu tien cho grad assistantship nen ho thich lay nhung nguoi da tung la grad student chu khong thich nhung nguoi moi tot nghiep dai hoc. Cac truong nhan vao 200-1000 ho so moi nam, neu ho so cua minh khong co gi dac biet (nhat la essay khong hay), ho se quang vao sot rac ngay vi chi tieu lay vao qua it (cang ngay cang it vi cac truong dang thieu tien, ma tai tro cho PhD hoc rat la ton kem). Cach chon truong thi tat nhien minh phai rai ho so ra khoang 7-10 truong: 1/3 top, 1/3 middle, 1/3 bottom. Co khoang 250 truong duoc nationally accredited (US News), nhung chi khoang 150-200 truong co PhD ve Business Mgmt thoi. Cac truong ben Anh rat de nhan vao hoc MSc, khong phai thi GMAT gi ca. Dieu do cung la loi the vi khi co Msc thi minh apply qua My de hon. Nhung den khi qua My thi phai thi GMAT va hoc lai tu dau chuong trinh 4-5 nam, van phai hoc lai vai mon core ve quantitative analysis & research methods (vi ben Anh khong day cac mon nay), co the duoc giam bot may mon specializations da hoc ben Anh. Ben Anh de xin qua hoc nhung khong duoc hoc bong hay assistantship gi dau, ngay ca PhD cung phai tu lo tien an o (chi duoc mien tien hoc phi thoi). Anh co dua ban qua Anh hoc MSc Finance, gio ve VN lam trong ngan hang, dang tinh viet proposal qua Anh hoc tiep PhD chu khong qua My vi no ngan phai thi GMAT & hoc lai tu dau. Tat nhien PhD ben My co gia tri hon PhD ben chau Au (ngoai tru em tot nghiep tu London School of Economics, INSEAD...) Co gi thac mac thi em cu hoi tiep.
