Just a suggestion: try to find VNmese guys, especially those from VNU, in Physics Programs in the States, then ask for their opinions. Another option is trying to apply VEF scholarship. As far as I know, they are quite flexible.

no news from PSU. Btw, I submitted quite late. My application was completed quite late, 3 weeks after the deadline. So surprised. I saw your profile in another topic. It seemed you did have a strong profile. What has happened there? Did they say anything about their decision? I have heard that they also put an critical eye on their supplemental application form.

I g0t the same problem. As I called them, they said that it took 3 days to process my credit card. No way but w8&c.

I think that we should give whowho doable recommendations. Given the time limit, do not re-take GRE. It may harm you. Last year, my friend got the same problem, and retook the GRE, the verbal score increased by 20 points, but quant score reduced by 50 points. He said that his verbal could not improve much in only few weeks while the quant score does not much depend on his capacity (yep, he is a guy with a Silver medal in IMO). Not to say a lot of money for a vietnamese student (he had to fly to Thailand to retake CBT). Finally he decided to use his initial score. And he got what he wanted with that score. But if you are going to apply next year/ or u have to, prepare more for verbal. Your score will increase. And of course yr chance in top 10 or top20 will improve much. Think carefully before making final decisions.

Second Reactor. But, if you want to apply to Top10 in yr field, I feel yr verbal score not help much.

I have one with 1100 words. Little too long, but my friends suggest not to squezze much.
