Icculus
I've googled tutorials and there seems to be some OK ones for these programs. I'd prefer working with Mathematica as that is what we use in a lab I work in, however having a good Matlab tutorial would be nice too. If you have one you are especially fond of please share. Another question, is the syntax similar between these two programs? Or are there considerable fixed costs from switching from one to the other. aecon641
I learned MATLAB for econometrics using John C. Frain's guide: http://www.tcd.ie/Economics/assets/pdf/TEP0110.pdf You can also download the LeSage toolbox for econometrics, in which case you can use the following guide: http://fmwww.bc.edu/ec-p/software/matlab/mbook.pdf Not sure this is what you were looking for, but these guides helped me a lot. Also, I don't know anything about mathematica but I'd recommend MATLAB. Its debugging features are great and it offers a great balance between offering an intuitive and technical interface. cav75105
I second the recommendation of the Frain guide for MATLAB for metrics. I haven't used Mathematica, so I can't compare.
