bighedgehog Posted December 17, 2003 Share Posted December 17, 2003 Hi,guys: could anyone help me with this reading question? it comes from the real test of 05/2001 "Notwithstanding preening and constant care, the marvelously intricate structure of a bird's feather inevitablely wears out" Q: The word "Notwithstanding" is closest in meaning to: A. despite B. because of C.instead of D. regarding I thouht the answer is A, but the key is C, why???
