I have just taken the TOEFL iBT Test last month. I have ever had many difficulties with this type of question before. However, now I feel that it is not as difficult as you think. The most important thing you need to keep in mind that you always distinguish between major points and supporting points clearly. In addition, you should eliminate too specific(example) or irrelevant answer choices... Actually, when you practise a lot of exercises, you will recognize this.
