  1. Hi David, I am post graduate doctor from India. I have done post graduation in ENT. I have done my undergraduation and postgraduation from one of the top schools in India. I have given GMAT thrice but I could not raise my score beyond 600(48,25, 4.5). I always used to score more than 650 in my practice tests. My verbal score was never below 30 in pratice tests. I strongly feel that my verbal score is not true indicator of my verbal skills. My toefl score is 105/120. I am from competitive Indian pool and my GMAT score is way below than required score in most of B schools. In India, medical schools do not have GPA system. But I can say that during my undergraduation I was in top 15% of students and during my post graduation, I was in top 5% of students. I have 6 years of work experience. Prior to post graduation, I worked in private medical institute for one year. I worked in clinical as well as administrative part of department and hospital during my three years of postgraduation. Currently, I am working in a Government insurance hospital, which is 400 beded hospital. It provides services to thousands of government and private company workers. I work as a senior registrar in ENT department (this post is second highest post in department) . My work is related to medical insurance of patients. I have also worked in camps in tribal areas. I am currently associated with an association called 'Doctors for you', which primarily arranges blood donation camps all over India and provides services in emergencies. After working in private and government healthsector, I realized that I need to learn about planning and strategy in general, which I can use in helthcare sector . In India healthcare industry and infrastructure is quite disorganised and there is a lot of scope to excel in this industry. I want to work in companies like GE healthcare, Philips, Johanson and Johnson, IBM so that I can gain experience, which I can use to start some project in future. My major concern is my low GMAT score.I know that schools look for diverse back ground of candidate. But, my GMAT score is so low (especially verbal) that schools will not shortlist me for further application. I searched various schools on internet. I focused on schools, which have healhthcare programs. Also I searched schools which have recruiters related to healthcare industry. But my primary criteria for shortlisting was GMAT score ( schools, which accept scores starting from 550) Dream schools Dukes and wharton Competitive Babson, IESE, illionois, rotterdam, Bocconi, Owen Safe Case Western, Thunderbird, MSB. Please evaluate my profile and guide me regarding how should I proceed. Please suggest any schools, which you think good for me. Is there any way I can compensate my low verbal score. Thanks

Left-handers tend to have an advantage over the right-handed majority, however, on task controlled by the right hemisphere of the brain, and mathematical reasoning is strongly under the influence of the right hemisphere in most people. If the information above is true, it best supports which of the following hypotheses? (A) Most people who suffer from allergies or other such immune disorders are left-handed rather than right-handed. (B) Most left-handed mathematicians suffer from some kind of allergy. © There are proportionally more left-handers among people whose ability to reason mathematically is above average than there are among people with poor mathematical reasoning ability. 9. Canadians now increasingly engage in “out shopping,” which is shopping across the national border, where prices are lower. Prices are lower outside of Canada in large part because the goodsand- services tax that pays for Canadian social services is not applied. Which one of the following is best supported on the basis of the information above? (A) If the upward trend in out-shopping continues at a significant level and the amounts paid by the government for Canadian social services are maintained, the Canadian goods-and-services tax will be assessed at a higher rate. (B) If Canada imposes a substantial tariff on the goods bought across the border, a reciprocal tariff on cross-border shopping in the other direction will be imposed, thereby harming Canadian businesses. © The amounts the Canadian government pays out to those who provide social services to Canadians are increasing. (D) The same brands of goods are available to Canadian shoppers across the border as are available in Canada. (E) Out-shopping purchases are subject to Canadian taxes when the purchaser crosses the border to bring them into Canada.
  10. The “Doppler effect” refers to the perceived change in pitch that occurs when the source of a sound is in motion relative to the observer. For example, the siren on a passing police car will sound higher than its true pitch as the car approaches, sound the same as its true pitch as the car passes, and sound lower than its true pitch as the car travels away from the observer. If two trains pass each other going opposite directions on parallel east-west tracks, which of the following observations provides another illustration of the effect described above? A If the eastbound train blows its horn as they pass, passengers on the westbound train will hear a sound that decreases in pitch. B If the eastbound train blows its horn as they pass, passengers on the westbound train will hear a sound that increases in pitch. C If the eastbound train blows its horn as they pass, passengers on the eastbound train will hear a sound that decreases in pitch. D If the eastbound train blows its horn as they pass, passengers on the eastbound train will hear a sound that increases in pitch. E If the eastbound train blows its horn as they pass, passengers on the eastbound train will hear a sound that is steady in pitch. plz explain

  13. Media Secretary: Opponents of our government claim that the recent cancellation of the highway project by the President demonstrate a vindictive desire to punish legislative districts controlled by opposition parties. They offer as evidence the fact that 90 percent of the projects canceled were in such districts. However, all of the canceled projects had been identified as wasteful in a report written by respected nonpartisan auditors. So the President's choice was clearly motivated by sound budgetary policy, not partisan politics. Which of the following is an assumption on which the media secretary's argument depends? A. The highway projects canceled in districts controlled by the President's party were not generally more expensive than the projects canceled in districts controlled by opposition parties. B. The scheduled highway projects identified as wasteful in the report were not mostly projects in districts controlled by the President's party. C. Reports by nonpartisan auditors are not generally regarded by the opposition parties as a source of objective assessments of government projects. D. Canceling highway projects was not the only way for the President to punish legislative districts controlled by opposition parties. E. The number of projects canceled was a significant proportion of all the highway projects that were to be undertaken by the government in the near future plz explain your answer
  14. In Meoxanvakia, in the past, most children used wooden sleds with runners and steering bars for sledding in the winter snow. A decade ago, smooth plastic sleds became popular; they move faster than wooden sleds but are harder to steer and slow. The concern that plastic sleds are more dangerous is clearly borne out by the fact that the number of children injured while sledding was much higher last winter than it was ten years ago. Which of the following, if true in Meoxanvakia, most seriously undermines the force of the evidence cited? A. Plastic sleds can be used in a much wider variety of snow conditions than wooden sleds can. B. A few children still use traditional wooden sleds. C. Very few children wear any kind of protective gear, such as helmets, while sledding. D. Most sledding injuries occur when a sled collides with a tree, a rock, or, another sled. E. Because the traditional wooden sled can carry more than one rider, an accident involving a wooden sled can result in several children being injured. plz explain your answers
