Did he apply to their English program? If so, did he found out why he was rejected? I'm scoring around 650V now after a week. I don't expect to take the test for another 2-3 months, so I hope to be at 750V for the real GRE.

I'm currently pouring over hundreds of vocabulary words in preparation for the GRE. (So I don't have definitive scores yet.) I've only been reviewing for a week and am scoring around 600-650 so far on the Verbal. I hope to break 700 in a month or so. I am double majoring and have a 3.5 overall with a 3.8 in English / 3.7 in Classics. I have 2 years experience tutoring at my university's Writing Center and will start my 3rd year in September. I've edited our university's Literary Arts magazine for 2 years now and have published poems in both issues. (I assume I'll be on it again next year.) I'm looking to write a conference paper shortly as well as get published outside of my university. I'm also looking to apply to UPenn, NYU, and two safety schools. (So far at least.) I'm open to suggestions about improving my chances, what my chances might be at my other desired schools, or any advice in general. Thanks in advance to anyone who can be of any help.
