I had a specific query, I have got my I-20 from the university which states that I have to show $XXXXX in my account. Now my question here is that how much over the required amount be shown so as to be in the good books of the visa people. I know that sky is the limit, but what would be considered a healthy sum?

Academics: 65% (Topper 75%; no backlogs) GRE: 1320 (V=570; Q=750; AWA= 4.5/6.0) TOEFL iBT: 113/120 Work Exp.: Two years in a health related field SOP: Nothing earth shattering! LOR's: ok-ok! Are the essays the same for TOEFL iBT also as they were for CBT?

Which centre and which city are you guys in? this is really scary stuff.

For GRE, you have to fill in the college codes after the test. But for TOEFL iBT you have a choice to either fill the details during registration or after the exams. Even if you filled some details during registeration, you can always change them on the screen which you input your choices after the exam is over.

Free score reporting is only allowed for upto 4 schools and not more than that for both GRE and TOEFL.

Why?!!! Don't you consider them as relatives????!!!!! You are disowning your own brothers for the sake of going to US?!!!

Well let me clear up the issue once and for all. When appling online you do not require the passport. But when you go to the exam centre, it is the primary means of identification of "Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis". They treat us guys as terrorists unless and untill proved otherwise! But they also tell you to keep a secondary ID also with you as most of the times they just check up on that to make things ultra-clear! So just take your driving licence, or your college ID card with you.

Guys i am in a fix! there are no available slots left in the months of aug, sept, oct and nov, all already filled. How do I give the test and meet the deadlines. Please help. Forgot to tell, i am from Delhi, India.

Simple: Just tell your relative to transfer the required amount of money to your parents accounts!
