  1. Thanks Vaithy and Chkx, I have covered some parts of OG and feel confortable in DS part. It is too late for me to check Manhattan guide. I would go thru the Kaplan srtategy. Reg GMAT score (as I intend to be around 550-590), it all dpends on school as well your experience. I kbnow people scoring closed to 600 could get in to USC and UCLA. Best Luck Rahul. I would post my result only if it is encouraging to you and others!! My G-Day is 15th Aug.
  2. Hi guys, The thread target date is nearing. All the Best for 16th Aug test. I have test on 15th and as I mentioned earlier I am in the similar (slower) boat now. I gave two Kaplan practice test and could get average 530. The last test I got 540 had few questions I already had seen. I invariably got all-wrong for the sentence correction whenever the answer was A. (The sentence was without flaws). I am sure you all are aware. Secondly I did bad in DS but when I went back to OG last night I thought it is much better than Kaplan. I need to be as close as possible to 550-580 in the final test. I am planning to take Kap test 4 tomorrow and then revise Spideys's notes and still work on OG (sentence correction) and complete as much as quizzes for Quant from Kaplan. Wish me luck guys. All the best to you all again.
  3. I think you go ahead and take the test. B Scholls considers GMAT score within 5 years. So go ahead.
  4. Hi, As far as I know, they send scores from both the test unless you chose at the end of the test that you donot wish to grade your test. Secondly, I got white papers and you could request them for white papers. You may go little early to the center.
  5. Here is a stopwatch application which could be useful while we are practicing. Site #1: http://www.xnotestopwatch.com/xnsw140.zip Initially, it feels like a burdon or pressure. It could be useful to get used to work under pressure of time and also being aware of the time especially on the G-Day. Many students like me, get engrossed in one problem and fail to cope up with overall timing. Any more hints on dealing with the time pressure? Here is one relaxation technique a doctor demonstrated ( btw he also showed it to President Clinton) Keep your hands straight like you are trying to catch rain drops. Keep palms straight. Gradually make fist and slowly increase the pressure of the fist by pressing fingers in palms. Keep it for few seconds and very slowly relax the muscles. Whle doing it close your eyes, breath very slowly and focus on the contraction and relaxation of the muscles. Within 2 minutes you would feel relaxed and can go back to brain storming.. Know that Management is a game of being cool. Hope you guys make this thread interesting.
  6. Thanks a ton, Arjmen, for your help...the Supermathman... Hi Arjmen, I was going thru your notes on number properties. I think if you stick to '2n' and '2n+1' as an even and odd number it could be easier than taking two variables m and n.. eg: odd * odd (2n+1)* (2n+1) 4n^2+4n+1 4n^1+4n will be always even + 1 is always odd I found it easier to work with only one variable. I understand you multiply by same number when both are odd or even but it works... pl. suggest. you are the master.
  7. Hi Vaithy / Chix47, Hope you have seen Arjmen's notes on number properties. Very useful... I gave my GMAT prep on Sat and could get only 530. Messed up verbal section. Did little better in Qunat 68 % / Verbal 28 %. I understand verbal is the only key (and weak point) for me to get better score. I am working on SC in OG and think I am improving with practice. Best luck for the final 2 weeks' study !!
  8. Thanks Arjmen, I posted you te same question on some thread but got answer for the study material on probability. (Ref: College Algebra Link). It's excellent sites to know basics and good examples too. Unfortunately I could find good info on number properties: I am more interested to understand properities of odd and numbers: If the result is divisible / reult would be odd or even etc. You know what I mean.. Also tell me if I should also cover Permutations / Combinations in detail. I am glad Vaithy is also requesting same information. Thanks for your great advise and participation.
  9. Hi Arjmen, You solve many problems with clear distinction. Could I know little bit on your math back ground ? Anand at the same time if you could suggest best study material to understand probability and number theory. Pl. advise someyhing too easy for you so that I could digest it. I could advise all aspirants to go to Arjmens profile and visit all the Qs Arjmen has answered. It would help a lot !! Thanks for your great participation ( It is more of tutoring!).
  10. Thanks Vaithy and Chix475, I tried to get grid but could not find one. Anyway, I created a spreadsheet where I could input my daily hours, schedule work and check how much % I'm done. I am planning to complete OG before time. I am planning for a disgnostic test today. Thanks.
  11. It may be easier if we write the possibilities 2 3 5 ( even odd prime each geater than previous) total 10 not in the answer 4 5 7 total 16 not in the answer 6 7 11 total 24 not in the answer. if you look at answer the range is from 4 - 18 hence we will need to find combination within this set of numbers say 2 + 5 + 7 = 14 not in the answer 2 + 5 + 11 = 18 : E is the correct answer.
  12. Thanks Chx475, Recently I have come across a site http://www.gmat-secrets.com which looks helpful and they have one year waranty of refund, if you are not satisfied. Has any one on the forum tried it ? Rest, I read spidey's notes ( about 18 pages) and look helpful for SC. Also I went thru Princeton Grammar Start which this time I found helpful at least to know keywords like conjunction, prepositions etc. I finished first 100 Math problems from OG. I thoought I would finish in a day but it took me 3 days. I am starting RC today ( first 50 problems). Has anyone came across an excel sheet to so that I could schedule my remaining 20 odd days?? thanks
  13. Thanks Vaithy, for your suggestion on OG. I too have same issue in verbal section. that the score is not consistent. It could mean that could be doing guess work rather than understanding and being on top of every problem. I suspect practice is the best key. Additionally you could refer to a grammar book ( check with Forum). I used Princeton's Grammar start but won't recoomend as it is not exhaustive.
  14. Hi Guys, I am sailing in the same boat. I have my GMAt on 15th. I just started working on OG again. I finished 55 math qs yesterday. If I devote lot of time I think I will be able to complete all OG and take atleast 3-4 tests. Does anyone think it is practical or I just do odd Qs from OG to save time. I am kond of obcessed to finsigh OG all sections. I am finding this forum extremely (I always missspell extreamly) useful. Thanks everyone sharing their view. It's a big service especially those who are providing SC/CR files.
  15. Thanks a lot guys for the SCa nd CR dox.
