  1. Option C appears to be the answer . what is the official answer Option A is wrong since there is no mention of career success in the argument and is out of scope
  2. I think A shud be good otherwise is necessary to preserve the meaning wats the OA
  3. B i think none makes sense because it can be plural or singular...in the later part of the sentence the mention of crowd and tess means that its not person
  4. in this discussion ppl seem to say Ans is E http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gmat-sentence-correction/55393-checks.html
  5. BEST ANS IS B note that " its not necessary for which to only modify the immediate noun D is not correct since its not parallel within itself E is incorrect because a qualifier is not correct here since it shows cause effect which is not inteneded here B is out by inlcuding is unidiomatic A has subject verb disagreement- a series of is plural
  6. THE IS UNNECESSARY HERE i WILL GO WITH D "The " is a definite article , "a","an" are indefinite For eg George Bush, the president of US, lives in washington. George bush , a president of a country, is powerful
  7. whenever in doubt regarding usage of "of" v/s "for" ......replace "of" with "belonging to " if it makes sense then use "of" C it is
  8. Look at the meaning of the sentence , do we really need a "but" or "although" the second part of the sentence need not conflict with the first ...so go with D that uses "and"
  9. It has to be A bcos But is a conjunction and needs a independent clause has to follow all other choices are dependent also then is redundant
  10. I think because there is no comma between hungary and armed ...u cant say that it modifies hungary
  11. C looks good A,D are out since have "only" before the verb "armed" hence acting as adverb when it needs to act as adjective for edison.... A has modifier problem , who is travelling E uses participle , even when cause effect is not there...anothe problem is that arming becomes parallel to travelling which is not intended...also I am not sure if a word like "arming" exists
  12. I feel ans is A my explanation B seems incorrect bcos u cannot construct sewer between 1901 and 1343 C is wrong bcos "led between" is shady D. only merit can be the fact that cause effect is shown here, serving is means that those sewers are already serving during construction E again "leading between "is shady
  13. I think A is correct because "has" is not correct because unnecssary change in tense so B and D are out Non underlined part uses "to" good aswner choise shud use "to" now tricky part if u ask Q , to do what v/s to what A sounds better I will go with A rather than E
  14. Hi guys...Me back after a long time(as if anyone caresNot enuf posts)..Anyways was here to check out some basic doubts regarding higher studies in US. BRIEF INTRO: SITUATION: Passed out of IIT Madras (a prestigious engg school in India ranked 3)..Presently as an analyst in a leading sales and marketing consulting firm for past 6 months. COMPLICATION: 1.Undecided on whether to do MBA after (4 yrs of wrk-ex..long way to go) or take CAT (a test to get into the top management institutes in INDIA...no wrk ex issues ..cheaper too) or do MS in US in some field which is a cross betweeen tech and management. 2.Some objectives: 1. Go to US 2. Get a challenging job there 3. Make lots of money UR COMMENTS ARE VALUABLE ,PLEASE BE GENEROUS!!
  15. I think my assumption that " a few trimming (as opposed to periodic trimming) will do enuf to reduce demand " seems more plausible than ur assumption that "ability to attract= population rise"
